Home Away From Home - Loved the Casa
This home is well appointed and has everything you need to have an enjoyable vacation. The dishwasher works. The BBQ works and the washer and dryer work…contrary to earlier guest comments. The rooms are separated from each other which provides great privacy for adult groups. Our party was in Loreto Bay to golf, fish and lounge by the pools. We had a great time and will be back!

Best Villa and Location
The quiet corner facing a beautiful mountain view with extra large courtyard was peaceful and perfect for us. Low foot traffic walks. The villa was furnished with upscale COMFORTABLE furniture and beds. The kitchen was stocked with metal flatware, cooking utensils and good pans including baking sheets. The villa was super clean when we arrived. Veronica, the property manager was responsive when we couldn't figure out the a/c in the living room. We can't say enough about what a wonderful experience this week was. Best out of 5 villas we have rented! Only issue was VBRO needs to update list8ng to show proper management company and office location with hours. Thank you Colleen!

Love it, except......
This place was very nice and pleasant. There is no need to go out, if not necessary, very safe, locals are very friendly and welcoming. However; I would say, I'm not the pickiest person but I believe the house needed a little bit work to it. To star of the couches were a little stained from dirt and in between the cushions there was a lot of dirt on it, to the point that I felt a little uncomfortable so we put covers on top of them, the appliances were outdated, like the dish washer I was not able to use it, it turned on but I couldn't make it to work. The window from the room inside the house did not closed properly, it was easy to be opened. Also, the cleaning people looked like they cleaned the house couple of hours before, like honestly you could tell they did not put any effort to clean it, when we moved the couches to find something under it, there was so much dirt under it, toilets were not very cleaned, some dishes and other things. Another thing that I think its important to know is that the structure of the house is not made for families with kids because the rooms are all separated from the house. The rooms and the house are not connected to each other from the inside, its like an Hacienda style. On the other side, the pool was very close to the house, we had beach chairs and a beach umbrella which came in very handy when going out. I gave it a 4 star because everything was very nice, I just wished the house was to the level of the outside community.

We arrived with a message that listed going yo Bahia management company and later found out it was Bama management down the street There were no measuring tools in the kitchen and we choose these accomadations because we enjoy cooking. We were blown away to find out we were furnished with plastic silverware. Eating ice cream was a challenge. When I inquired about beach towels I was told I had been informed we were to ring our own. They have been stolen in the past so no longer furnished. I come here often and don’t have room for beach towels and will find a better furnished place in the future. Place was dark and most blinds were broken and could one opened. I think some of these issues are just the cost of doing business to offer your guests a great experience. To be fair there were a lot of great things but no beach towels and plastic silverware are game changers for us

We truly enjoyed our stay in Loreto Bay. This home fit our family perfectly with room to spare. Had mostly everything we needed and even though our host was out on their own holiday vacation, they were great to respond in a timely manner. Loved the location! The neighborhood has shops and delicious restaurants. The pools and beach were so close. It great walking everywhere and less than a 15 minute drive from downtown Loreto.

Horrible experience
I am not a picky person and consider miself an avarege joe and not picky .I have been coming to loreto and staying at loreto bay since 2008 and have never had a problem .I can honestly say this has been the worst place and experience i have ever encauntered in all mi vrbo stays .The place is run down and needs a lot of maintanance .For starters the upper bathroom clogs up the other bedrooms have issues with a/c units being so old that they are loud and have water leaks .the dishwasher doesnt work the washer and drier hardly work ,stove is old and electric.the living room roof and kitchen walls are flaking off because of the water leakig .the towels are old and stained .i can say i could live with all that that i mentioned since i wasnt going to be there much . Uppon mi second day i contacted the owner via text message stating that there was a water leak on the dawhnstais bedroom and to please send someone to check it out .thinking the leak got repaird we went about our stay .THE LEAK WAS NEVER FIXED My 71 year old mom was staying in that beedroom .she tripped and hurt her self while getting up to use the bathroom at night because of the big water leak from the a/c unit that was not tended too .i tried to call the owner with no responce she finally texted me back once she was aware that my mom got hurt .this owner does not deserve to render vrbo servises .she doesnt care about her property .Iam currentlly taking legal action agaist this propery .DONT NOT RENT

Somewhat disappointed in this property...
Over the past few years, this is the third monthly arrangement for a stay in the Founders neighborhood. It is a wonderful area and has provided a special experience for our guests and my wife and me. Unfortunately, the home on this trip fell somewhat short of our expectations. We had several problems....namely, the dishwasher never worked. Rodolfo said it would "be a few days". It never was repaired. Two of the four TV's didn't work. Rodolfo checked once, never returned. Propane..Rodolfo said he would bring another tank. Never saw him again. Notified the owner, she said she would call Rodolfo midway thru our visit.....never heard from either one in the last two weeks. We had some of the same issues other people have mentioned in the past: Ants, very few hand towels or wash cloths, uncomfortable lounge chairs, no shade on top floor. On a positive note, the outside enclosed area was beautiful and well taken care of.

This is a beautiful home and the complex is safe, clean and quiet. Only a few suggestions for the home owner it to upgrade some things in the home. Kitchen supplies a little outdated and no sharp knives. Patio furniture very uncomfortable without cushions and no umbrellas for shade so the patios were not used which we would have loved. The home owner was very responsive and quick to get back to us. The manager was also helpful and easy to work with. The washer did not work even after they tried to repair it. Suggestion is time to replace it. Beach chairs were great, coach comfi, beds comfi. No bicycles, not even two which we missed as we stayed there before in another house which had them. Issues with the very slow internet most of the time.

Had a great time!
My family (5 adults) had a great time in Loreto Bay at Casa Maria for one week. Weather was perfect in early December, not too hot but great for hiking, golf, swimming & snorkeling. We encountered a few deferred maintenance issues on arrival that were addressed property management during out stay (see “pros and cons” below). But overall, this property is a great value for a family or small group, offering great privacy in the spacious house with 3 very separate bedrooms, each with it’s own full bath. The thick walls being very soundproof. Lovely entry garden, comfortable beds, and nice furnishings in the downstairs living area. A short walk to the beach, pool areas, mini-mart and coffee bar. Loreto town is super clean, low key with nice restaurants and shops. The locals both in town and at Loreto Bay were always extremely nice, hospitable and welcoming to visitors. In summary, a few updates to the property could definitely enhance the experience. As other reviewers have mentioned, be prepared to buy some basics like extra toilet paper, dish & laundry soap, trash liners, etc. But being in the beautiful water, desert mountain air and mellow vibe of Loreto it’s hard to complain too much. :) PROS: clean, comfortable, nicely furnished, plenty of bath towels and linens, private and quiet, more affordable that similar properties in Loreto Bay. The development of Loreto Bay itself, the beach and the golf course is extremely well maintained and beautiful. CONS: fountain was inoperable (but fixed during our stay), washing machine stopped working (also fixed during our stay), TV in living room has damaged display (permanent horizontal lines and dead areas on screen), TVs in bedrooms are inoperable (suggest updating VRBO description “each room equipped with a flat screen TV”), air conditioner remotes not working, even after switching batteries, outdoor furniture on terrace (lounge chairs) and tower (table) are broken and need replacing, wifi is generally slow and spotty.

Enjoyable stay in Beautiful Loreto Bay
3 couples shared this 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom house in beautiful Loreto Bay. All the bedrooms are very separated so excellent for couples sharing the space or those with older children. It had a good location, a few minutes walk to both the pools, several restaurants and the golf course. Beds were very comfortable, good bedding and towels. All the appliances are original and we would suggest that the dishwasher is reaching it’s natural lifespan ( noisy and not doing the greatest job at cleaning). Overall well equipped with dishes and not a big deal but be aware not to expect any spices/condiments outside salt & pepper. Limited English and North American sports channels on the TV, which for a longer stays may be bothersome but not really an issue for us. Netflix access would be an excellent addition :) The owner was very responsive in returning emails and when some minor issues came up was able to resolve quickly through the management company. This property is a very good value, well located and we would definitely stay here again.

Lovely house and surroundings
Highly recommended! My sister and I stayed at this charming residence in Nopolo, about 10 minutes from the Loreto airport. I'd recommend a car, as the nearest full-service supermarket, pharmacy, and most restaurants are in the town of Loreto (a 15 minute drive). We visited in December; the weather was great--sunny and 70s to low 80s F. There are lots of paths to walk which encircle the 18-hole golf course. Tons of birds to see, including two amazing species of hummingbirds. As a single female traveler, I felt very safe in Nopolo. Good security, and everyone--both local and ex-pat--was very friendly. The house was delightful, very private with the enclosed patio and two levels of outdoor covered lounging / eating areas.

Perfect location for a winter escape
This home was perfect for our winter getaway, with 3 couples each having their own bedroom and bathroom. Plenty of living space downstairs for us to spread out, or BBQ on the upper verandah or have sundowners on the palapa above that. Fully stocked, nice cold air-conditioners, beautifully landscaped and friendly management onsite. View is of the golf course and the pools and beach are a short stroll away.

Awesome Famliy Vacation
Arranging the rental with the property owner was fast an easy. The property is shown as-is and suited our needs quite well. The property management company on-site was easy to deal with. There is 24-7 private security around the entire complex. Everyone we met was (whether working staff, local or tourist) hospitable and friendly throughout our entire stay. ACs did a great job of keeping the all of the rooms cool; however, we were blessed with great weather. The morning and evening temps with nice cool breezes off the sea couldn't get any better. Overall, Loreto itself is a beautiful place with beautiful people. We never felt unsafe while visiting town or traveling to other tourist spots. I do recommend renting a car to make it easier getting around. Driving here posed no problem. There is only 1 street light in town. Restaurants on site and in town offer superb food and really great prices. The Wine Cellar was our favorite while staying at the rental (3-4 minute walk). Mi Loreto, Mita Gourmet, Mezzaluna, Clam Shack, and El Rey Del Taco are must trys. We also brought some groceries at the Ley Express where the locals go. The Farmers Market on Sunday was a great place to pick up some fresh veggies and fruits too. In summary, this was an extremely relaxing vacation enhanced by a beautiful property in a spectacular location. The people of Loreto are like the cherry on top. Again, my family had an exceptional vacation. I sincerely hope Loreto never becomes like Cabo, Cancun, Ixtapa or any of the other mega tourist trap places. It's perfect the way it is.

Awesome - will be back!
Staying at Colleen’s casa in Loreto Bay exceeded our expectations and we will be back. The interior is spacious and well appointed and kitchen stocked with stainless steel cookware. The garden, including a fountain and expansive patio space on three levels added to our staying comfort and restful experience. The short walk to the beach was always fun and interesting - the landscaping (a mix of lush sub-tropical and desert plants) along the walkways between the various residences never ceased to impress us. We loved the beach area that offered plenty of shade, a long sandy shore towards the north and the pool bar/restaurant in close proximity. A few hundred yards from the sandy beach towards the south east there is a rocky point and we spent a lot of time snorkeling and fishing in that spot. The water temperature was a very comfortable 78F (late May/early June). We rented kayaks during two days of our stay to explore the interesting coast line south of the rocky point and caught a lot of trigger fish from the kayaks. What really surprised us was that we shared the beach with only a handful of people during our stay which just enhanced the “getting away from it all” nature of our trip. Options to enjoy breakfast at the resort were pretty good - at the hotel and also at El Corazon which was our favorite breakfast location during the trip. For dinner we caught a cab to the town of Loreto most evenings (300pesos before tip) and just followed yelp/TripAdvisor recommendations and were never disappointed. Dinner was about one third to a half cheaper than in the US. We felt very safe strolling around the town of loreto at night time and never encountered a beggar, pandhandler or homeless person. We also did two deep sea fishing trips with Abraham on his panga and caught plenty of yellowtail and red snapper. Abraham collected us at the beach at Loreto Bay so there was no need to catch an early morning cab to the marina in town to start our fishing expeditions. We picked loreto bay over Loreto “proper” because we felt the beach and snorkeling experience there would be better and never regretted our choice. One last recommendation- we caught a cab one day to enjoy lunch at the clam shack 5 miles south of the resort and had a marvelous time enjoying fresh clams and fish right on the beach. We hope to be back in October again.
