Three times a year, the village comes alive with staff in period costume re-enacting history.

If outdoor activities are more your style, the Loxton Pioneer Memorial Gardens are worth seeing, with over 1,100 roses commemorating Loxton’s early pioneers. You can also explore the Murray River National Park, which takes up more than 13,000 hectares and has different areas like Katarapko, which is across the river from Loxton and has heaps of good fishing and camping areas, to Bulyong Island, a bush area bursting with native wildlife and accessible only by boat.
