On arrival looks nice, road going to it is full of pot holes, in need of some attention. The grounds and reception look nice, the family room we had , needs some serious updating, would help if they painted it. Breakfast and dining room, was very good. Not sure if I would return.

Locked in the past.
Kids prom at the hotel. Waited 40mins to get to car park. Long confusing walk through bedroom corridors to get to pretend then back again to get back to my room. Shabby decorating on the corridors. Unable to use the hotel pool unless you pre book and spend £60.00. Looks like it has been an outstanding hotel in the past.

The Manager of the Spa was amazing so was the gentleman on reception for sorting out a hairdryer for the room. Unfortunately the room we were given 119 is over the bar/kitchen area and the main fan kept me awake everything else was lovely

Unfortunately I had not seen that I had to pay additional money for use of the pool and as we were spending one night there and in particular were there to use the pool I had to book into the spa. The only availability was early morning and the spa did not open as the manager had not got out of bed! Whilst the hotel is a very high standard and looks five-star, the room we stayed in was not five star. One of the family. Single beds was not very comfortable at all, and the television remote control did not work well, and there was no satellite TV access. We also had a very long way to walk to our room.

Stay was okay to good. We have been once before and the room we booked ended up being above the disco room so not the best for sleeping but otherwise good. Returned this time we were at the back of the hotel but found the walls were thin so could hear group of girls chatting and laughing until early hours. Positives: Lovely setting. Outdoor pool looked georgous. History of building hasn't been forgotten. Walks looked good, weather permitting. Breakfast relaxing. Rooms clean and tidy but not to everyones taste. Staff warm and welcoming. Extra milk given in room when requested. Negatives Noise due to thin walls, not just from people in room nextdoor, shower/toilet etc from nextdoor. Felt rushed during evening meal/menu limited.

Shrigley Hall Hotel
Great Hotel once your inside but the walk from the car park is sadly along one. On the day we checked out it raining heavily and I was soaked by the time we got to the car. Room 128 was clean and tidy, but dated. Lights didn't work, cracked tiles on the bathroom floor, sockets and plugs were loose. Nothing that wasn't liveable but in a place like this, its all in the small details. Bar area and Restaurant were perfect, food was amazing both for the evening meal and breakfast. Staff were great too.

Really pretty place to be with spa next door. Shame you have to spend an extra £60 just to use the pool. Rooms are not cleaned very well at all but the rest of the stay was perfect. Great food too.
