I was willing to overlook the wooden door that hides the fridge falling off every time we opened it, or that the desk drawers were so loose we could hardly get them in and out, or the missing air duct vents that further fell out when touched, or the thermostat that kept resetting itself to 72 degrees but felt more like 76, or the malfunctioning window that required 2 of us working together to force closed, or the pictures missing from walls with empty anchors now visible, or torn wallpaper in the hallway, or a flimsy shower curtain with sagging rod that left a large puddle on the floor after each shower, or the lack of coffee maker or that only 2 cups were supplied in a room for 4 people. I would have overlooked all of that as im a regular camper and dont require pristine environs of perfect convenience to be content. But it was upon check out when we received an email telling us we were being billed a $34.43 "facility fee" for every day we stayed, plus some $2 charitable donation that turned my opinion against this hotel. As we used absolutely nothing in the hotel that could have been construed as billable, i assumed it was some buried-in-the-fine-print thing that allows them to sneak bonus charges onto your stay, so the initial rate you signed on for looks more competitive when booking. Its a slimy business practice and I think everyone booking with this place should be aware.
