The neighbour was really noisy from 10pm to 5 am during the night time, a bunch of young guys were playing online games, they consistently shouted to each other. It seriously impacted my family’s sleeping time when we stayed at Collins House Apartment.

A very good stay
The apartment itself is very comfy and the location is perfect. Just 15mins walk to south cross station and in the CBD region. The reception is also very nice and helpful. The room has most of the things needed for a stay. Just some minor improvement in my opinion - The checkin instruction asked me to call a number but no one answered. Luckily the apartment is quite popular so I can enter the building by following other guests. Better to be able to call the reception via the intercon directly - Several things in the room are missing, e.g. kitchen scissors and hair dryer. Would be good if having a more thorough room check - The TV is not connected to antenna, and it cannot connect to the Internet as well since it cannot show the login screen. So it is just useless

Avoid at all costs
I woke up the first morning to no water and no air conditioning. None. The elevators were also not functioning correctly so it took quite some time to get downstairs to find out what was happening. They had no idea when they would have water again and gave me a few water bottles to “bathe” in. By noon, there was still no water or air con. Based on Hotels.com’s assurances after conversation with the hotel, I checked out and had to pay for another hotel. At checkout, the site manager agreed to a refund but said it had to be approved by another office. Now they are refusing to provide the refund. There was no water! Incidentally, other residents of the building indicated that problems occurred all the time.

The property is strategically located in the heart of Melbourne City within walking distance to nearby malls, free city tram and eateries. Our unit is located at 51st floor giving us a spectacular view of the city, nicely maintained and quiet. Would definitely book this property during our next visit.

Hats off to the staff at this property. From the get go everyone I came into contact with was courteous and actively helpful. I did not meet any housekeeping staff, but I highly commend them - the room was spotless, a rarity these days!

I had to arrive after reception closed due to a delayed flight, but the staff at reception did an excellent job of letting me know how to handle a late check in. I did have quite a bit of trouble sleeping (I am a light sleeper). I stayed in a two bedroom apartment on the 21st floor on a corner of the building, one bedroom faced the street and noise from cars and trams was fairly loud. The second bedroom was facing away from the street and much quieter, but unfortunately the room was quite warm and the air conditioning made quite a loud rattle whenever it was on, too much to sleep with. I did report this to reception on the morning before my last night there, but it wasn't fixed before I checked out the next day. Access to the building is a bit convoluted, but fine once you're checked in and get used to it. Overall the apartment itself was very clean, spacious and in quite good condition, though the beds were quite worn out. If it wasn't for the noisy air conditioning it would've been quite a good stay.
