The property is in an excellent location everything is within walking distance with also having the option of the trams and the railway station not far either. The room was quite spacious perfect for a short stay which provided all the necessities and the staff are very helpful and assisting. I definitely recommend this property.

great position and very clean and spacious. But is sounded like a herd of elephants above us all night. Don't know what it was an I know the lift is very old but seriosly our stay was spoilt by thump thump thump all night

I was upgraded to a one-bedroom apartment from a studio for no extra charge. Lights and air conditioning were on for my arrival which I appreciated. The apartment was spacious and for the most part spotless. It had a great walk-in shower. The kitchen was a bonus and I was able to cook dinner on both evenings. The bed, whilst firm, was very comfortable and attractively made up. Towels and bathroom supplies were generous. It was exceptionally quiet at the hotel. The staff at reception were well organised and polite. Situated on Collins Street, it made for a wonderful stay. A few details could make the stay exceptional. These would include a spruce-up in the bathroom floor tiling and skirtings, a dishwasher in working order (in the apartment I was given), and new blinds on the large windows. A fly-screen on the openable sash window would also go well as would a clean-up on the window sill. The hotel offered a value-for-money stay in the overpriced city tariff market.

Location was amazing, so close to it all. Value for money was also wonderful. I needed a 2br apartment for my family of 4 that were going to be out and about, so somewhere just to sleep basically. This was perfect. Clean, neat and easily accessible. I do recommend.

Beds are not that great as per previous time issues with hot water - cold shower. this time again the bed condition pretty worn on each side so tomorrow will wake with back pain again. A good location at the top end of Collins Street, and the suite was a good size. There was a window in the lounge, but none in the bedroom so no breeze when sleeping. Otherwise a great stay.

Great one bedroom apartment
It is obviously an old hotel - but felt fresh and clean because it was fresh and clean. The location was great, close to the Mall, Federation Square and Flinders St Station. We stayed in a roomy one bedroom apartment on level 8. The views looking down during the daytime was ordinary to say the least ,but eye level and above, especially at night were fine, and we weren't there for the view. There was a laundry that we didn't use, so I can't comment on, the same with the off site parking The staff before we arrived and while we were there were lovely. Check in after reception closes, I believe can be arranged Overall a quiet, clean, spacious apartment, that was good value for money, we will stay again

Pictures on the website definitely do not match the accommodation at all. Hair found in the shower and on the bed, toe nail clippings found on the carpet. Generally very unclean and a weird smell. Bedside lamps do not work and seem to only be there for decoration. If staying in one of the 2 bed apartments the step up into the bathroom is extremely unsafe. The furniture all needs a deep clean as we found everything to be very dirty. Please make sure you read all the reviews before booking this accommodation we wish we had. Reception staff were not over friendly.

Hotel Collins is my go-to place for an overnight stay in Melbourne. Have stayed here many times. Quiet, well equipped rooms, comfy bed and great location that is close to everything. Highly recommend.

The location of Hotel Collins is fantastic. It is right in the hub of Melbourne, and only minutes walk to trams, trains, restaurants and theatres. It is right opposite the Regent Theatre. The rooms are a good size so comfortable and clean. The kitchen has all the basic needs for a city stay. Even though it is on Collins Street it was quiet in the room. The front desk staff are very pleasant and helpful. It is very good value for money. We will definitely stay in Hotel Collins again the next time we are in Melbourne.
