Staff were lovely, very friendly and enageging. The only issue was being so close to Spencer Station and the city, it was noisy at night - people coming and going, sirens.. but you would expect that across the city!

The savoy in Melbourne is my absolute favourite hotel to stay when i visit from the most beautiful welcoming staff members who greet you with your name everytime because they remember you from your last stay to the most beautifully cleaned rooms and spacious with everything you need to the best breakfast buffet in all of Melbourne i would say this place feels like home every time i come and i come to Melbourne probably once a month i recommend this hotel to everyone i know absolutely love this place 10 stars id say 🙌🙌👏👏

The Savoy is a special place. It's decor, atmosphere and music make it so appealing and relaxing. I feel at home as soon as I arrive. It's my go-to Hotel in Melbourne. The whole experience takes me to another world - a really relaxing one with decorum and style. The staff are attentive and professional.

The savoy ticked all the boxes. The room was clean, the staff were super friendly & accommodating. The Alexander bar & restaurant within the Savoy was the perfect spot for dinner. Signature cocktails served with a story just added to the fabulous experience. Pleasure to stay here & I’ll definitely be back. Perfect weekend getaway spot.

This is a VIP property where we receive an upgrade if available. At check in we were told they could not upgrade us as they were full. The day before leaving a different check in member of staff told us they had been very quiet all week. Housekeeping was very poor, carpet not cleaned all week and shampoo etc empty, amenities not always replaced. Tea, coffee and sugar not always topped up. The air con unit made a terrible banging noise all night and the bathroom flooded every time we had a shower. We reported it twice and there was no improvement. Whether anyone looked at it we do not know as we had no communication from the hotel.

We had stayed at The Savoy many years ago and it seemed nothing had changed in ambience or decor which was good for us. The upkeep and cleanliness of the hotel is excellent. We liked the Restaurant, enjoyed our dinner very much. Breakfast was good however we didn’t get there until a bit later and the hot selection was cold and one heavy lid kept dropping down, quite dangerous, hit my hand, it hurt very much but no damage. What we didn’t like was the dim lighting in the room itself, very hard to see items etc. Bathroom lighting was good though. All staff during our stay were polite and pleasant. All in all we enjoyed our stay, thank you. Thanking you Phil and Lorraine (Joy) Zeuschner.

Best avoided unless you dont mind a lot of noise
The windows facing directly onto Spencer Street, with its traffic, trams, and trains directly adjacent are only single glazed so good luck getting good rest with that background noise. Further the aircon is akin to the noise on an aircraft. The room design and decor is that of a low end, older budget hotel, not one that claims to be 4.5 star.
