The staff was friendly and courteous, it was conveniently located for seeing the Luther related sites in Wittenberg, and breakfast was quite good. But, the hotel/room decor is quite tired and needs updating in almost all areas. The towels were worn and frayed as was the carpeting on the stairs. The shower/tub is quite high and a bit of a challenge for older travelers. In our opinion, not deserving of the 8.7 Expedia rating.

Everything about this property was perfect. Location is great. Restaurants close by (outside the front door). Parking was right in the back of the property. Front desk clerks were friendly, helpful and spoke English. The room was clean and very sweetly decorated. We loved it all.

This hotel is in a 500 year old building on the main street of the old town in Lutherstad-Wittenberg. You feel like you were living back then. They have redone the hotel very well, but it still retains its old charm. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Right in the heart of old town Wittenberg. No air conditioning, but Germany was experiencing their hottest and driest summer on record. Regardless, the room was small but comfortable with a provided fan and open windows.
