We stayed for 2 nights as a family. The location is great and the people are very nice. I expected more for the price we paid, but it is New York and everything is expensive. The only issues we had were waiting hours for extra blankets and the AC/Heat unit wasn't working properly. I did not bring this up to the hotel staff so I am not sure if they could or would have fixed it for us; we just dealt with it as it wasn't that much of an issue.

Everyone was friendly, nice welcoming. Only small complaint is that there is No Coffee anywhere in the hotel. Beautiful lobby could handle a coffee station if they don't want to install in rooms. We had to go out anytime we needed a cup.

Location is The Empire’s best asset. Accommodations are not elegant but are more than adequate. Major shortcoming is absence of coffee makers in the rooms.

A hotel with a greate potential
The Empire Hotel is very well located, with everything one needs on a vacation trip to New York nearby, good stores, supermarkets, subway station, Central Park, Lincoln Center. The staff was friendly and helpful. But, on the other hand, the hotel in general is not in a good state of cleanliness, especially the common areas, dirty elevators, papers on the floor of the hotel lobby, the lobby has a strange smell like wet clothes without proper drying, the rooms are already somewhat old. A four-star hotel with all the potential to be a great hotel, but it was beaten by years of operation and today leaves much to be desired.

It is right next to Lincoln center and many of New York's greatest attractions. It needs a renovation to be competitive with its neighborhood. There was not enough hot water.

The worst hotel in Manhattan so far. A tiny dark room with no daylight coming in, a small bathroom with dark brown outdated furniture, a broken a/c and a constant noise coming out of it. Doors not automatic, and no personnel helping with the luggage at entry/exit. Rude maid. Narrow corridors - difficult to pass with suitcases. Door lock not working normally - open after many tries every time. I won’t stay there anymore even for it’s great location across from the Lincoln Center and close to the Central Park.

On the plus side, a great location, near Lincoln Center and lots of restaurants. It has an agreeable staff and nice gym. Bed was comfy and room was clean. On downside, the room needs an overhaul, especially the bathroom that is a bit worn. Also could use amenities like room service or in-house working cafe, room coffee maker and closet hanging rack suitable for shorter than 6 foot people. Overall we like hotel’s convenience to the Met. Price also reasonable.

Photos tell you enough. Very poor condition. Tough to see the hotel decline so much. Staff was friendly was only positive. We ended up leaving and couldn't even stay. It was that bad.

We stayed here because we were going to the opera. Very convenient for restaurants, too. We had a bigger room than last visit and we really liked it. The door lock have us a little tricky but sometime can't and helped us immediately. We will be back
