Hotel was clean and convenient for our 1 night stay in Newcastle. Our access room number did not work and I had to call for assistance, but I was able to get in contact with someone pretty quickly.

The hotel reeked of mould. I had stayed in this hotel about 6 years ago and it was fine. At 10pm we decided we couldn't sleep there, packed up & went looking for somewhere else. To no avail everywhere booked out, so we were forced to go back & sleep there. We were not happy. There was also no fire hydrant outside our room - just the bracket!

The room had very bad smell. It was definitely coming from pillows and mattress. Kind of broken aircon, noisy and believe it needs service. Very old building. It's different than photos.. Staff is friendly.. Place is secure.

Spooky. We didn’t meet one human in our stay. Shades of a Murakami novel. We could hear occasional snatches of conversation but nothing discernible as a sentence. Good inspiration for a horror movie. Impossible to rate staff and services as we found no proof that they existed!

It was an unstaffed hotel, but they failed to send us the codes to get in the main entrance and our room (the mobile text message never arrived). Luckily there's a phone number to call where a human told us the codes. The self-check-in relied on customer device and network connection, which wasn't ideal - I did not have network coverage in the vicinity of the hotel. The room turned out to be OK, except the shower head was half-broken - we put a flannel over it to help direct the water downwards and made it just about usable. We noticed that other customers had terrible experiences with mold/dirt in the rooms but we were lucky not to have those issues with our particular room - could be that the ground floor rooms had more damp issues... OK for a cheap 1-night stay but wouldn't choose this place for a longer stay. The surrounding area not particularly nice but we did manage to find dinner at 9pm. There's parking on site, which was important for us.

Stinky smell!
It's really old building and need to put it down and rebuild: not disabled or old age friendly as there is no lift to 4th level, hall way is too dark, carpet need to replace or cleaned, rubbish everywhere, carpark is too small and narrow, although first come first serve, if it's full no choice but to park on the street at your own risk, inside our room the toilet sink pipe is leaking, toilet bowl not cleaned when we arrived, afridge is too small and can't fit a litter of bottle, 1 small plate, 2 mugs, 2 glasses, 1 small spoon for the family if 4, even the tea or coffee sachet just for a day. Overall we can tolerate the appearance but the smell, it's really stinky, our solution is to buy air freshener and glen 20. The management or the owner must look the problem and make a solutions.
