Orange Walk accommodation from AU$121

On arrival there was a friendly welcome from Nate and although we were early our room was ready. The hotel has a bar and restaurant which operates separately from the hotel, it's called The Deck. It is open most of the day and  looks out over the lake which is really pleasant and good for spotting various birds and small crocodiles.  The restaurant is supposed to be closed on Tuesdays but luckily they were open when we were there. Best to check. The hotel office can help with tours if needed. They arranged the Lamanai boat tour for us which we really enjoyed. We were happy with our room which was huge, with a very big comfortable bed, and it had a balcony. There was plenty of hanging space. The air-conditioning worked well. There was a hairdryer in the room and also a TV. We wanted to watch some TV, maybe see some local channels, as we relaxed in the room in the evening, but we could only get the apps to work, such as Netflix, intermittently. The bathroom had some toiletries and plenty of towels and loo roll, however due to limescale around the taps and shower it meant that the water didn't flow very well. The shower was just a trickle really. Orange Walk Town is around 8km away so you need your own car or a taxi to get in for dinner. We decided to stay in the hotel, and the dinners we had there had plenty of choice, and we really enjoyed everything we ate over the 4 evenings. All staff were really friendly and helpful.
