Other than one front desk employee who left at 11pm on the night of our stay, the staff was friendly, professional, and responsive.
A guest with a small dog was placed in the room next to us. The dog barked for hours - while the occupant(s) were out. I am a pet owner as well, so I am all for pet friendly hotels. However, when I went to the front desk to ask what could be done, I was told that I could move to another room. Furthermore, for her to mention something to the guest would be seen as ‘harassment’ and that we would need to move.
We requested an accessible room because my sister who was traveling with me has multiple sclerosis. It was 10:00pm and the last inconvenience we needed was to pack up and move to another accessible room - which wasn’t available.
Perhaps having a designated area/floor for guests with pets could be considered. Additionally, I don’t particularly like the idea of staying in a room that was occupied by an animal. Seems like guests with allergies or aversions to pet dander could tolerate such a room - no matter how much cleaning took place.
We will not be staying nor recommending a Sonesta property nor any option within the chain in the future.
