The property has been tastefully furnished to an exceptionally high standard with a very well equipped kitchen whether you want to cook or not! The guests have access to music, TV (English & French) and a good selection of DVD's, if necessary, but with both front and rear gardens being completely enclosed you can have breakfast sitting out in the front garden to catch the morning sun, and then spend the rest of the day in the rear garden where there are table, chairs and loungers on the decking, as well as a BBQ. The whole impression is of a very well presented cottage with a modern but 'country' feel, good central heating backed up by a wood burner in the lounge.
But for those looking for a more active holiday, the coastal path with fantastic views of this part of the Breton coastline is only a few minutes' walk away. I found it particularly easy and practical to stay in the cottage with my dog because apart from the privacy of the gardens and the practical design of the cottage, we went out every day to find different beaches and cafés and restaurants where dogs are welcome. Staying at this cottage means you can plan for all weathers and stay at base or go out and explore at will. The small town of Plouha is less than 10 minutes' drive away and has all the services required, with a great market on Tuesdays. For dog owners there is an excellent vet in Saint Quay-Portrieux for the required visit prior to return to UK. The owner very kindly organised this for me prior to my arrival. There is a lot of information about the area in tourist leaflets in the lounge and the location of the cottage gives visitors access to some dramatic scenery along the Cote d'Armor, to the beaches where the facilities are excellent, and if necessary larger towns like St. Brieuc are not far away by car.
The cottage is also a very easy 1.5 hrs drive from Roscoff. I would highly recommend the cottage to everyone - we had a lovely holiday doing something different every day.
