Overall a lovely stay in a nice big room
Lovely big room, friendly staff, tasty meal and decent breakfast. Slight down points - the view was of a car park and disused building (but not much can be done about that) and the bed was wobbly and squeaky, with the mattress sloping on one side. The staff were quick to note this and said it would be sorted promptly. Overall, this didn’t detract from what was a lovely night in a pretty seaside village.

The ship inn
My recent stay at The Ship Inn was nothing short of delightful. The room was exquisite, featuring a majestic four-poster bed and an elegant roll-top bath. The decor was tastefully done, creating a warm and inviting ambiance. Over the course of my two-night stay, I was treated to a lovely breakfast each morning, which was a perfect start to the day. The staff were the epitome of friendliness, always ready to assist with a smile. I left with fond memories and look forward to returning to The Ship Inn for another wonderful experience.

A very warm welcome from Connor on our arrival, we stayed in the seaside suite and it was lovely. Bright and airy with a separate (but adjoining) room for the kids and big bathroom, perfect for a relaxing soak. We had a slight misshap with our bathroom plumbing but Connor went above and beyond to fix it. Had one of the best sticky toffee puddings I've ever tasted at dinner (honesty, SO good!). Breakfast was tasty and Olivia was equally charming and hospitable to us as we checked out. All in all, a really nice break by the seaside and all the staff are so welcoming and friendly. Definitely going to stay again.

Friendly welcome and service. Comfortable smallish room (Church view-but also a busy road..). Good shower. Some 'fussy' furnishings. Breakfast was poor: no fruit or yoghurts, very few cereals; little choice of bread. Cooked part saved the day! Overall, perfectly ok for a night or two. But hotel needs to sharpen up its act for the price.

Friendly stay in a period hotel.
An ancient inn so interesting, quirky, but quite small room. There was a big cupboard for clothes and suitcase, but once we put the 6 huge cushions and large bedspread in it there was no room left for clothes. Reducing the number of cushions or replacing the bedside tables with bedside chests would improve storage space. It was nice to have a bath and a shower, but there were no hooks on which to hang clothes while using them. There was no shelf space in the bathroom so we had to balance toiletries precariously on the back of the toilet. Rather risky. A shelf by the mirror would be very helpful. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food for breakfast and evening meals was excellent, despite the breakfast buffet being reduced by Covid restrictions.

Quaint and lovely B&B
The Ship Inn was clean, with hand sanitizer available everywhere. Staff were very respectful towards Covid measures and always checked if we wanted our room cleaned (or if we needed anything). The downstairs dining/pub was cosy. The pub food was delicious, and the English breakfast in the morning was a great way to start the day. The room was small, but had everything we needed. The best part of the experience were the friendly hotel staff. Highly recommend a stay here! If we ever find ourselves in Dymchurch again, we'll definitely be staying here again. :)

Lovely weekend away
We loved it. We stayed in church view, room 4. The staff were all welcoming, polite, friendly, helpful and couldn’t do enough for you. We stayed for two nights and were asked if we needed anything, how was our room, how was our stay on a few occasions. We had breakfast provided both mornings and it was lovely. They change your table round each morning do you get a different view which is very thoughtful. We also had our evening meal in the restaurant on one of the nights, we hadn’t booked and they still managed to find us some space. It is clearly popular as the tables were all reserved around us. The sticky toffee pudding was lovely, and our mains were also fab. The room was also good, blackout curtains made it darker and there was a fan provided to help cool the room down (we went on a particularly warm couple of days). There was a shower and bath, plus shower gel, shampoo provided as well as water and tea and coffee in the room. The only thing you need to be aware of, which wasn’t a problem for us at all, is the building itself is old and quirky. This means the stairs to the bedrooms are a bit historic and therefore uneven, if you find stairs tricky, these are not for you. Otherwise we found them very giggle-worthy (especially if you’ve had a couple of beverages) 😆 Thanks for having us, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and have already recommended you to others and hope to come back soon.

Great beach getaway.
We chose the Ship Inn as a last minute getaway destination for the May Bank Holiday. The staff were very welcoming, the room was comfortable and the pub was equally welcoming. The COVID measures in place made us feel very comfortable about making this our first overnight night stay since the October. The location is just a stone's throw from the magnificent beach at Dymchurch. We'd higly recommend this hotel.
