The hotel is perfectly located just off of one of the main thoroughfares in the Dordogne Valley, but away from the traffic noise. The view from the window of our room overlooked the Dordogne River and the Medieval era buildings of Beynac. The short hike up the steep cobblestone path to the castle of Beynac begins just across the street from the hotel. You can spend a day of sightseeing in the area without moving your car. The breakfast is worth the money for its convenience, but there are a number of decent to fine restaurants in this quaint village. The hotel has 3 free parking spaces across the street and there is a large public parking area by the highway a block away.

Solo stay in amazing Beynac, France
The concierge at the hotel was incredibly nice and helpful, and spoke perfect English. She got me a reservation at the amazing sister restaurant down the hill for that night and recommended some walks and activities to do in town. She was also able to secure a taxi for me to get me back to the train station some distance away. Breakfast was particularly amazing, with fantastic breads, charcuterie and homemade jams. I only wished I was staying longer!! I loved the room and it was very cozy, but it might have been a problem for people with mobility issues - up 2 flights of stairs and no elevator available. Bathroom was also small, but well laid out and plentiful hot water, and charmingly decorated. Overall, it was wonderful for people without problems with stairs.

Very basic hotel. Bed comfortable. Breakfast good. Shower leaves a lot of water in the floor. Left towels to be replaced. Only one bath towel replaced the other one was hung to dry which it didn't. No Kleenex. No where to set toiletries in bathroom

Charming location with charming, helpful staff.
The hotel is right in the core of the beautiful historic village of Benyac. Wonderful breakfast at good price, complete with homemade touches. The staff was warm and friendly. We didn't eat at the Malleville restaurant on the river but found la Petit Tournelle right across the street very good for dinner.

Nice little hotel
Would consider this 2 star. Nice, clean, simple room in a midevil neighborhood. Breakfast limited but OK. Price reflected the limitations. No lift and limited parking. No cost for parking.

Great little hotel in a stunning village
Great little hotel though some descriptions are a little misleading, it is in a great location but not exactly on the river as was implied. Beynac is a beautiful town with lots going on during the day but it was difficult to eat without reservations in the evening and it very quickly closes down after dark. It's not the fault of the hotel but we had a lot of luggage to lug up a lot of stairs, a lift would have been very much appreciated. All in all though I would definitely recommend this hotel in a stunning little village.

Charming Town
Beautiful location. Limited options for dining and activities in the immediate town, but very pretty setting. Hotel was quaint (old but kept up fine). Didn't pay for the optional breakfast so can't comment on that.

Great location for exploring beautiful France.
Guests must be able to walk up/down steep cobblestone streets w/ luggage and also up stairs as there is not an elevator. Premises are exceptionally clean and breakfast very good too! Bed and pillows were beyond the life expectancy so therefore hotel only received 4 stars.

Just the job for a reasonably priced short break
Hostellerie Maleville was conveniently situated very close to the Dordogne river, local shops and restaurants. We received a warm welcome and our room was clean and comfortable although both the room and en-suite were on the small side. The staff were all friendly, helpful and tolerant of visitors with limited French. The continental breakfast was more than adequate and beautifully presented. We will be back.
