This is my second time staying at the Lord Nelson in Halifax. It’s my favourite Halifax property, the hotel has been nicely renovated, It is very clean and staff are terrific. It is situated conveniently right on spring garden road close to many amenities also a 10 minute walk to the waterfront and historic properties, 5 minute walk to the citadel and a 10 minute walk to SMU/DAL and Point Pleasant Park.

I loved it - it felt like a proper, beautiful, well appointed hotel, the staff treated you with dignity and were dressed well, which may seem odd to younger people but this is the way a hotel used to be- still modern amenities but the old world charm remains. Thank you, room was quiet, clean and super comfortable. Underground parking easy to access, the food and bar are wonderful. If I am staying in Halifax again, it will definitely be at The Lord Nelson. Please don’t change a thing ❤️

I was there for a conference and it was very convenient. You can walk out the door and turn the corner to find restaurants and shopping. It is also across the street from the beautiful public gardens.

Such a beautiful hotel. Such a great location as well. The staff were friendly and prompt. However, We had one little issue upon checkout. We had requested a late checkout as our flight departure had changed. Staff obliged the request however after arriving back from lunch our cards were deactivated and we couldn’t get into our room. After solving that little hiccup we went back to our room to pack up our belongings only to find a staff member at our door reminding us about checkout. We found this to be very pushy. The customer service rep expressed a sincere apology after that interaction and informed us of staff miscommunication. We will return to the hotel again.

Very well received and taken care of. Nice and clean. Very quiet. Right across the street from the beautiful garden and kitty corner to the Citadel. Good walk to the waterfront. Lively end of town but no knowledge of it within the hotel.

The only down side that is not your fault in any means was the encampment of the homeless, did not feel safe walking at night. But Montreal has the same problems

It is a nice old hotel. Our checkin at 6:45 pm had an issue of checking to make sure it was ready. The lovely lady on checkin did realize this was causing us some concern of what we were getting. Room was large & very quiet. It was a good stay, some quirky things just stops it from being 5 star. One quirk was 1 Lindt chocolate & 1 bottle of water dropped off in our room with note about next day weather.
