Accommodation In Suva
Head to Suva, the multi-cultural capital city of Fiji, and soak up the sun's rays from one of our sensational Suva hotels.
We've got everything from budget motels to luxury resorts, so no matter what kind of holiday you're after, you'll find something that suits your needs.
Things to Do
The Hibiscus Festival is Fiji's ultimate annual event, and has been running for over 50 years! For nine days in mid-July, crowds flock to Suva to enjoy the amusement park rides, watch the free live shows and wander around the stalls. But the highlight of the event is the beauty pageant, where lots of lovely ladies go head to head for the coveted 'Hibiscus Queen' crown. The Hibiscus Festival isn't the only event you'll be able to enjoy if you're in Suva in July. Earlier in the month, there is the week-long annual event, Fiji Showcase. This festival is perfect for families on holiday because there are plenty of rides, food stalls and live entertainers.
Whether you're here in July or any other month of the year, Suva is brimming with places to go and things to do. Suva Municipal Market is a must-stop if you want to enjoy the heady delights of a traditional Fijian marketplace with plenty of handmade souvenirs and fresh tropical fruit and produce. There are plenty of other smaller markets in and around Suva, as well as local street vendors.
The next stop on your itinerary should be a visit to the Fiji Museum, where you can see artefacts as old as 3,500 years, and learn more about the fascinating history of this small group of islands. Suva has had quite a violent past, but in 1882, it became the country's capital city as Fiji became part of the British Empire. If you'd like to, you can see some of the local British Colonial architecture with your own eyes by visiting the Parliament Building.
Restaurants and Nightlife
Being such a multicultural city, Suva offers dishes to tingle just about everyone's taste buds. There are western-style meals, Indian dishes, Chinese cuisine, traditional Fijian meals and just about everything in between, in this city! And you won't have any trouble finding something tasty to fit your budget, either. Whether it's a cheap eatery or a fine dining experience you're after, you'll find it in Suva. And if you're here to party, Suva bursts to life after dark with trendy bars and pumping nightclubs, so it's easy to find a place to quench your thirst and party with the locals.
