Only a room with a view, nothing else.
This is a room with a view (admittedly very nice) and not much more. No breakfast was available and the wifi didn't work when I arrived. They wanted to be paid in cash up front, but I said I wouldn't pay until the wifi was working. Also, the bed had a big lump in the middle. However, it was clean and the shower worked well. The fridge leaked occasionally. Parking is very difficult and expensive in that area.

I would first like to say that Isabella was very nice to me. She was the woman who greeted me after I sat around on the curb after 30 minutes. I didn’t understand that this was not a hotel but actually just an apartment. The apartment was pretty but sadly, nothing worked except for the view of the sea. In the night, there was no light to shine on you as you figured out which key let you inside. I tripped going up the stairs in the dark and nearly tumbled down because I couldn’t see anything. The air conditioner had some type of lock on it so you couldn’t make the unbearably hot room any cooler. I laid in bed trying to sleep but at 3:50 am i woke up and called a nice hotel down the way to see if they had a room for me. They took me in for less money...everything in their hotel worked, including their adjustable air conditioning. The refrigerator at the apartment also didn’t seem to work. There was no water to drink, no soap or shampoo or conditioner either. I didn’t think to look for these things until I realized they weren’t provided. The televisión also didn’t come on and there was no wif password. I believe they advertised breakfast but if that is true, it was not provided for. I tried to call them before I left to at least have the second night refunded (I stupidly paid in cash for both nights) but it’s 12:34 noon and still have not heard from them. I wouldn’t recommend this place for those reasons but also because it would be dangerous for a child. The railing is loose.

Not all good in Syracuse
The history of Syracuse is extraordinary. Ortigia is a wonderful area of town, full of great areas to explore. We had difficulty making contact with the owner, and ended up having to stay the first night at another accommodation. There is no one on site except at certain times of the day, so it was very difficult to arrive and get in. The breakfast was at a local cafe nearby, in a beautiful position opposite the Duomo, but it was closed on our last morning!

Arrival was horrendous. We arrived in Siracusa at about 13.00 and rang the contact/owner. He said he would not be available until 16.00 and suggested we take a long lunch. We turned up at the room at 16.00 but he did not turn up until 16.25 after repeated telephone calls. Tried to offer us an awful room which bore no resemblance to that advertised/booked. Eventually agreed to re-room us in a slightly better room. Much of that advertised (internet.TV etc) did not work. Met another English couple who had moved room twice due to problems. Having said that building was very conveniently place between the port and the Piazza Duomo.

My host went beyond the call of duty to assure my comfort, even providing a beer in the room's refrigerator on arrival and driving me personally to the bus station on departure. The view from the balcony overlooking the harbour was magnificent. As the B & B was within a minute or two of central piazzas in this beautiful, interesting city, rather than serve breakfast, the host chose to reimburse me for all expenses incurred at any cafe of my choice for breakfast each morning. Highest rating!!

Really nice B & B, the rooms are spacious, views are amazing and Gianluca makes you feel very welcomed. located right where the action is, but on a quite street. Really enjoyed our stay.

Pagamento solo in contanti, a differenza di quanto indicato al momento della prenotazione. Inoltre, il pagamento è da effettuarsi all'arrivo, senza preavviso. Il gestore/proprietario non mi ha ancora inviato la ricevuta. La colazione era inclusa nel prezzo ma ho ottenuto il ticket solo l'ultimo giorno, quindi non ho potuto usufruirne il primo giorno. Stanza non pronta all'arrivo. Personale molto scortese. Ottima la posizione per girare Ortigia, scomodo il parcheggio. Carina la stanza e il bagno. Kit bagno completo. Aria condizionata. Attenzione: no ascensore.

Sono disabile. Dopo un'accurata ricerca ho prenotato il B & B. Ma purtroppo, magrado ci fosse scritto che era una struttura accessibile a chi fosse su sedìa a rotelle come me, nn era così. La mia stanza era al 2° piano senza ascensore!! Un incubo vero e proprio. La tariffa nn era rimborsabile e jn altri posti ñn c'erano stanze libere Musica assordante fino alle 3 circa, di notte privenìente da un locale sottostante. acqua in bagno scarsissima Tv ñn fu nzionante xchè nn sapevo come farlo funzionare. Quindi abbandono totale da parte di chi doveva stare li.

Molto bene per nulla breakfast
Abbiamo trovato la stanza pulita e confortevole, tuttavia non si può dire che il servizio sia stato soddisfacente. Non appena arrivati siamo stati "accolti" con la richiesta immediata del pagamento in contanti (pos non esistente), erano le 12 e siamo stati costretti ad andare alla ricerca di un bancomat (42 gradi fissi), perché, ci è stato detto, era "obbligatorio" saldare il costo della camera al check in. Inoltre, se non fosse stato per le nostre rimostranze ci sarebbe stata assegnata la camera sbagliata (decisamente senza vista). Non abbiamo ricevuto la pwd del wifi, mentre il buono per la prima colazione ci é stato dato solo per il secondo pernottamento (in quanto il personale ha dimenticato di consegnarcelo). C'è da dire che il proprietario (o gestore) della struttura é stato conciliante e ha riconosciuto queste defaillance, tuttavia rimane il fatto che il personale adibito all'accoglienza sia stato inadeguato.

Posizione molto buona ma servizio scadente. Siamo rimasti senza acqua per circa 12 ore, senza nessun tipo di assistenza. Nessuna possibilità di usare il bagno, ne’ doccia. Una volta segnalato il problema al proprietario di casa ci è stato risposto di arrangiarci, in tono alterato e poco cordiale. Per risolvere la situazione sarebbe bastato portare dell’acqua o un secchio almeno per poter usare il bagno, ma siamo invece stati insultati e denigrati. Atteggiamento assolutamente non professionale ne’ ospitale. Discussione conclusa con: “Fammi parlare con il tuo uomo, che tu sei donna e con te non ci voglio parlare”. Al limite dell’assurdo. Inoltre appena arrivati ci è stato imposto di pagare in contanti senza nessun tipo di preavviso. Esperienza pessima!

A éviter, Grosse Arnaque. Ce n’est pas un B&B, tout juste une pièce. Ce n’est pas joli,ce n’est pas propre, c’est très bruillant, et vétuste et la vue mer, n’est en réalité qu’une vue port. L’hôte nous avertit que pour une arrivée après 18h il nous en coûtera dix euros, nous faisons donc en sorte d’être là à l’heure, il arrivera avec 15 minutes de retard. En arrivant première déception, c’est moche et austère. L’autre nous explique que pour le petit déjeuner, il faut aller au bar sur la place de la cathédrale, ce n’est donc pas un Bed and breakfast. D’ailleurs ce n’est pas un bed non plus, puisqu’il sera impossible d’y dormir. C’est très bruyant de jour comme de nuit, la fenêtre en simple vitrage a un carreau cassé, le lit est vieux, inconfortable et grince de façon permanente, les draps sont trouées. On pourra tout juste se laver avec le filet d’eau de la douche, dans la salle de bain qui est très sale, le ménage ne sera pas fait pendant notre séjour, ce qui nous vaudra une rupture de papier toilette, il ne sera probablement pas fait après, comme avant. Il n’y aura pas de check out, il faudra laisser huit euros de taxe de séjour même si la réglementation dit 4€ et les clés sur le bureau en partant. attention ZTL. Je déconseille vivement.
