To put it simply, awful. I’ll try and keep this within the allotted word count.
- Owner did not know even know we were checking in the day we arrived. Had to call for him to reply that he thought we were checking in the next day.
- Booked this particular apartment to enjoy the private rooftop terrace with spa. Spa was unclean and malfunctioning, with two of the 3 jets inoperable. I spent the good part of an hour cleaning the water with a strainer only to find that the spa also didn't heat up.
- Whilst the apartment itself was tidy, we did find mould on the exhaust fan in the master bedroom, along with yellow stained sheets.
- The guest bathroom had a leak under the sink that was being absorbed with paper towel that had gone yellow, and there was another leak above the fridge that was being collected by two foil trays with stagnant water above a warped over fridge cabinet.
- The building pool was also not fit for entry, being dirty, half filled and containing numerous roaches. I understand that this is a strata issue and not in control of the property owner, but was also a sour experience.
- All of the above was communicated to the property owner who after specifying "The apartment was clean and is separate from those issues that really do not impact that much on your stay, after all the weekend is about experiencing The Entrance and not totally the apartment."
We were not able to stay another night and requested that instead of an additional night, that night was removed from total cost of the stay and of course for obvious reasons, the cleaning free waived.
This was refused and after back and forth with the property owner settled on a partial reimbursement of the cost of stay.
I thought this was the end of this saga, but I was mistaken. The next morning, after I had sent the owner photo and video evidence of the aforementioned, I received a text from him trying to dispute the above which included the below.
"I have to give it to you, you played your cards well, going on a witch hunt. Money comes and go, and has no defining value, what defines us is our honesty and integrity."
This was followed by further phone calls and messages to the property owner who was incredibly unprofessional and down right rude.
We were expecting a relaxing weekend away and to experience an apartment and facilities that we paid good money for, that didn’t happen. Following this experience, I can’t, in good conscience, recommend staying here to anyone.
