Generally a nice place. Not really meant for international travelers , I believe. We donā€™t speak French (wish we could and we do try) but we tried to be open and understanding but things were lost in translation. We were hoping for a nice experience with good food and wine but we didnā€™t get that. We were ignored and ended up eating out and decided then that we would avoid the service and go elsewhere. Early August might not be the best time to visit the area. Driving around the area it seemed like a ghost town. No life or activity. We decided to travel closer into Bordeaux to see more things. I would not recommend during the hot season. Maybe during harvesting it becomes more alive.

Nice change from the usual branded chains
Nice place at edge of village amongst the vines. Staff were great but some only spoke French. Most clients were French couples and some French businessmen and women at a meeting there. Ours was the only non French car in the car park. Restaurant service was slow and menu limited but the food was excellent, local wines excellent and good value. Good buffet breakfast. Room was huge for a family of 4. Owner took us wine tasting at neighbouring chateau. Would happily stay there again.

Fƶr den som vill ha lugn och ro och bo i en fransk by mitt i vindistrikten. Otroligt charmigt och fantastiskt trevlig personal. Vi kom sent pƄ eftermiddagen efter lƄng bilfƤrd, kƶket var stƤngt men de lyckades ƤndƄ trolla fram en lunch med ett glas vin. Innan middagen var vi med pƄ en guidad tur pƄ en vingƄrd som producerade Sauterneviner. Synd bara att vi inte fƶrstod ett ord.... Middagen var underbart god, man kunde vƤlja tvƄ eller tre rƤtters meny. Och vinerna gick ju inte heller av fƶr hackor. Det enda negativa var den trƄkiga frukosten, efter den goda middagen hade vi nog fƶrvƤntat oss mer Ƥn tex plastinbakade ostskivor frƄn Holland. Men jag kan varmt rekommendera Domaine de Valmont!
