A lovely hotel with friendly and helpful staff. They couldn't do enough for you.
Located in the ideal location, on Amstel. It's a 20ish minute walk into the center of Amsterdam (25 minutes to Central Station) and around a 20 minute walk to the Heineken and the Van Gogh Museum.
Some lovely restaurants around the area and the hotel backs onto Rembrandtplein, which features clubs and other restaurants. The National Opera and Ballet is on the other side of the water.
I stayed in a twin room with canal view and lucked out with the 5th floor overlooking Amstel. The view was stunning. I slept with the curtains open so I could look out overnight. The room was spacious and the bathroom was in good nick.
Great facilities in the hotel, including a mini self serve supermarket (including a Starbucks coffee machine) and air hockey and a pool table. I didn't get a chance to eat at the restaurants or explore much further, but overall had a great experience at the hotel.
