If you want the loud hustle and bustle of Oak Bluffs, Vineyard Haven, or Edgartown, this is NOT the home for you. However, if you want a quiet, peaceful, relaxing, idyllic vacation on The Vineyard, filled with cycling through the state forest, short drives to breathtaking beaches, and the ability to check in and out of touristy parts of MV, then this IS this place for you! Kathie was an amazing host and allowed us to check in early on the first Saturday, as we had a morning ferry arrival. Her place was immaculate: three bedrooms, a nice living room with a huge sectional couch, a three-season room, an outdoor shower, and everything you could need in the kitchen. We were welcomed with a box of chocolates from the local farmer’s market. The house is in secluded area with a huge backyard: a grill, fire pit, and shed to store our bikes. Our family loves to bike and we were three minutes from some amazing paved paths. The first day, we biked to Edgartown from West Tisbury, which was a bout 9 miles but a fantastic ride through the 5300 acre Manuel F. Correllus State Forest with views of the MV Airport. The fields and meadows are breathtaking and we saw a few deer along the way. We were able to hit all the major beaches: Chappaquiddick, Aquinnah, South Beach, Long Point, Lambert's Cove, all short drives away. When we wanted to head into town we did; beds were so comfortable as well. It was nice to come home to some quiet and sleep without the noise! Thanks, Kathie! We will be back!
