Very strange stay from beginning to end. I spent time looking at the venue and looking at rooms based on size and quietness of location on property. My partner and I settled on the carriage house because it would be away from the main house. A few days later I had few missed calls ans a text from "John at the copper swan in" confirming I would not be bringing a dog with me. I was really thrown off because I do have 2 dogs, but planned to leave them at home. John said no problem he would upgrade us to a king Suite, and I said no problem if it had the same over 200sq footage and I stressed that.
When I arrive there was no one to greet us, but papers with info on room #, a key, wifi information, and that a breakfast basket would be provided in the AM. I went up the main house to the room and it was TINY I did not the the sq ft I wanted and the room was in the middle of the main house. I went down to get things sorted and John was really snippy and rude about the situation. He did e d up putting me in the room I booked originally in the carriage house.
What I later realized is he was trying to accommodate extra guests that had pets as the main house is not pet friendly. We were bringing our toddler and needed the space for her pack and play and to roam around.
The outside of the carriage house is stunning, but the inside was disgusting. Dead bugs in every corner (see photos). You can see that the room never received a good cleaning.
