Left In The Dark
Upon our arrival at the hotel at approximately 5:30PM, we found that the hotel had no power due to a power outage in the area. I was traveling with 2 small children. I asked at the front desk if they had any idea how long the power would be out and was told maybe an hour. I checked in and was given our room key. From what I could see in the room the accommodations appeared to be adequate for our overnight stay. Once we unloaded our luggage in our room, we left to find a restaurant to have dinner. When we arrived back at the hotel at approximately 7:30PM, the power had NOT been restored. Having to go through a VERY dark corridor to get to our room, we were going to attempt to take showers in hopes the lights would be on soon. However, upon entering the bathroom, you could not see a thing in the bathroom, it was pitch black. The children were extremely frightened and compared this experience to a haunted house. At that point, I decided that I would not subject them to this nightmare, so we packed up our belongings (with the use of a flashlight) and went to the person working the desk, who was actually outside due to the fact there was no air conditioning working, and the building was extremely hot. I explained to her that I was not staying and asked to be refunded. We did not get what I had paid for. We could not use the pools due to no filtration system running, no air conditioning, no lights. I was told I could not receive a refund. I want my money back!!
