Basic hotel but convenient for NYC
Pros: connecting passageway from hotel to penn station, which let us take the path train right to World Trade Center in NYC. Super easy and convenient. They had a hotel shuttle from Newark airport which we used. Cons: The hotel itself was a little dirty in the rooms. We ran out of TP on the first night and called them for more they said housekeeping couldn’t come until the next day which we thought was strange they couldn’t find a single roll anywhere for us. Not great problem solving

Xmas trip
I'm very used to this hotel and came back many times, but this one time was different because we had a pet with us and they are not pet friendly. We were not told at the check in but 2 hours later when i came to request information about the parking fees. Later next day around 9pm i came again to request a blanket and i ended up enforced with a pet disturbance violation fee of 250.00 and kicked out from the hotel. Anyway it will be resolved but they should be clear at first about hotel rules at first check in.

When we arrived, the receptionist, who had already finished her shift, was very dry and told us that there was no room ready for us and that we should wait at least 30 minutes. We understood, but an hour had passed and she had already left and there was no communication between the shifts. After a long wait, we went back to reception and the girl there was much nicer, handed over the keys and we went upstairs. The room was super dirty. The carpet was horrible and stank. The bed linen looked like it hadn't been changed by the previous guest. We were very tired after driving for 9 hours. The sheets and towels were full of hair. We found disposable cups from previous guests under the bed. The pillows stank. We paid for extremely expensive room rates and we didn't even get room service for cleaning on one of the days. We won't be returning and we don't recommend it. The staff are neither helpful nor friendly. The rooms stink and the cleaning service is terrible.

On the plus side: Proximity to train station was excellent. Nice restaurant for breakfast. Very friendly staff. Bed was comfortable. On the negative side: We had a corner unit on a very cold winter night. In order to get the room to a constant 68-70 degree temp, we had to turn the thermostat to 77 degrees and keep it there throughout the night. Apparently the unit should have had 2 chairs, but there was only one. The other (which should have been in the corner) was not in the room,

Rooms were a bit dusty and had a noisy neighbor. Other than that; great and convenient.

The perfect spot if you don’t want to drive into the city, but still want to be close to other transportation going into the city. Penn Newark is across the road. There is a stoop leading to it, you won’t even get wet if it’s raining.
