Positioned on a steep hill in central Dunedin, Speight’s Brewery is one of the only remaining gravity-fed breweries in the world. Guided tours offer an exclusive insight into the brewery, as well as access to the casks, bottling area and sampling room.

See the rare gravity-fed vats and learn about how this open-topped brewing style enhances the flavor of the beer. After seeing how the brewery works, make your way to the sampling room to taste six of Speight’s best beers. If you like what you try, combine your tour with a meal at the nearby Ale House. Speight’s Brewery is open throughout the week and tours run every 2 hours during the afternoon. Tours last 90 minutes and booking is highly recommended. Children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult and those below the age of 18 will not be able to sample the beers. There is a gift shop at the end of the tour, where you can purchase an extensive range of beer as well as postcards and souvenirs. The brewery is located on Rattray Street, a short walk from the center of Dunedin.
