Disney California Adventure® Park
Disneyland® Park’s neighbor is a celebration of all things California, and gives guests the chance to experience the newest generations of Disney characters and magic.
Disney California Adventure® Park opened in 2001, right next door to the original Disneyland® Park in Anaheim, Orange County. Years in the making, the 27-hectare (67-acre) park was created to reflect the hope and optimism which drew a young Walt Disney to California in the 1920s, and to create a new canvas on which to present Disney’s latest creations. The Park features thrill rides, state-of-the-art shows, and attractions that are often culturally rich and educational. And fun is never far away!
The Park is arranged around eight themed areas. Begin your adventure in Buena Vista Street, an art deco and Spanish Mission-style tribute to the dynamic and youthful city of Los Angeles where Walt Disney first began to spin his dreams into reality. In the Condor Flats district, fly high above the Golden State on the Soarin’™ Over California experience. Back on the ground, Grizzly Peak offers the kind of white-water and zip-line adventures usually found in the faraway mountains of the state.
Get close to the latest Disney superstars in Hollywood Land before stepping inside The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror™. See the world from an insect’s point of view in “a bug’s land” where little ones will squeal with delight aboard Heimlich’s Chew Chew Train.
Cool off by the waterside at Pacific Wharf, which celebrates the rich and varied world of Californian cuisine and wine. Dive beneath the waves with the cast of The Little Mermaid – Ariel’s Undersea Adventure at Paradise Pier® and then experience the incredible G-force fun on the famous California Screamin’ roller coaster.
Shift into high gear in a Radiator Springs racers, in Cars Land, then refuel at Flo’s V8 Café. As the sun sets, head to Paradise Bay and marvel as the night sky lights up to the World of Color water, music and light spectacular.
Catch a good night’s sleep at one of the three Disneyland® Resort hotels, then head back the next day for even more California adventures, or explore the adjacent Disneyland® Park and the Downtown Disney® District Entertainment, Shopping and Dining District.
Disney California Adventure® Park is situated 35 miles (56 kilometers) south of Los Angeles. There is a pay parking lot and various public transportation options service the Park.
