Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park

At Walt Disney World® Resort’s interpretation of a melting ski resort, trade in a snowsuit for a swimsuit and splash your way through its wet and wild attractions.

Orlando, Florida may be known for sun rather than snow, but Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park transports you to a Swiss-style ski resort experiencing a meltdown. Walt Disney World® Resort’s water park is popular for its variety of exciting rides and attractions.

According to Disney® legend, Blizzard Beach became a frosty ski resort after a freak blizzard blanketed Florida in snow. Soon, the thermometer rose and the snow melted, wreaking havoc on the ski slopes and creating numerous watery rides.

Mount Gushmore is the centerpiece of Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park and the starting point for most of its rides. Ride the chairlift to the mountaintop, where it divides into four slopes.

The Green Slope has high-energy water slides. Its flagship ride is Summit Plummet, a massive free-fall slide that drops 120 feet (37 meters). Brave the sudden drops of Slush Gusher, a water slide that actually leaves you airborne at two points. Groups love Teamboat Springs, a whitewater rafting adventure sending up to six people together through a twisting series of waterfalls.

Race your way through the rides on the Purple Slope. Grab a friend for the Downhill Double Dipper, a side-by-side racing tube slide, and see who gets to the bottom first. Snow Stormers and Toboggan Racers send visitors through switchbacks and tips on toboggan-style mats.

The Red Slope has one great ride, Runoff Rapids. Careen your way along these massive inner tube runs through twisting flumes and tunnels.

Ride at a more relaxing pace at ground level. Enjoy the lapping waves in Melt-Away Bay or make your way down the lazy river of Cross Country Creek. Other pools throughout the park feature rope swings, iceberg islands and more unusual features.

The water park has many places to eat or picnic. Explore its shops and take home a souvenir from your visit.

Like other Disney attractions, Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park is open daily. Get here easily by car or on Disney’s public transportation. For additional wet adventures, visit its nearby sister park, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.
