Hell's Kitchen

No one’s quite sure how Hell’s Kitchen earned its devilish title but one thing’s for sure, this booming neighbourhood now offers a little bit of heaven for everyone.

It’s thought that Hell’s Kitchen got its nickname from the gang violence going on here in the 1800s. You won’t find that scene here today. Hell’s Kitchen, aka Clinton, is more well known now for its lively theatre culture, range of restaurants and gay bars. But you can still find traces of the old earthy charms, like at Rudy’s bar, a local icon that serves up cheap beer and free hot dogs.
