Hotel is nice, disappointed that after arriving early and dropping off our bags (thanks for that) and being told that or room would be ready at 2pm, we returned at 2:20 to then have to wait another 15-20 min before the room was available. Did get a couple of drinks from the bar for our troubles.

This hotel is an Auckland treasure. It has all the amenities of a modern hotel with the charm of the Art Deco era. The staff is very personable, friendly, and knowledgeable. The food at their restaurant is simply delicious. The location is fantastic as it is in the heart of downtown Auckland with shops and restaurants right there to enjoy.

Could not recommend less. The receptionists were completely incompetent, did not even understand english half the time. For my 4 night stay I requested my room be clean before 2pm; not once was this done. Homeless people sleeping at the doorstep. Rooms are loud. Terribly decorated. My door lock for the keytag did not work for two days and the receptions had no idea what I was even complaining about so could not get it fixed. Terribly managed hotel; this is a 3.5 star hotel at best. They gave me a stale plate of muffins so apologise for my complaints on the last night lol. Go stay at the QT or Intercontinental instead.

The room is far to small for the money, and when a suitcase is opened there is no room to even access the wardrobe. The huge bedhead in front of the window blocks light and retricts even the ability to see out the window. The bathroom however is very nice with a big shower and plenty of pressure. The prices for food, drinks and minibar are to expensive and while the spa is a good idea it wasnt very hot and the jets were barely operating. It is possible to get a far better hotel for the money even in Auckland
