Black Dog of Blue Ridge is named for the owners' loyal pet, who loves coming to Blue Ridge to relax on the deck and roam in his fenced yard. This peaceful retreat is great for a family, few couples, or a girls/guys weekend. Bring your own furry friend as well!

This prow front home offers a rustic yet elegant setting with contemporary, premier furnishings, almost all purchased locally from Blue Ridge stores. Here, gazing out at spectacular views, you'll feel at peace and at home while the real world disappears and your cares fade away.

Start each morning with the sun rising over a view that even the locals call "amazing." Have breakfast in the gorgeous dine-in kitchen as dazzling colors outside your window transform into a clear blue sky.

In pursuit of adventure? Take your loyal pooch for a hike through the mountainside, then head out to the river for whitewater rafting or tubing. Head over to the stables for a lovely horseback ride through the hills, then hit some balls on one the area's pristine golf courses. Wonderful place for families with pets
We loved our stay at Black Dog of Blue Ridge. It’s convenient to town (but make sure you follow the host directions and not Google), has great views from the deck, a comfortable outside fireplace in winter, and a perfect fenced yard for pups who like to run around. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to travel back soon

Forest Getaway
Beautiful home and location. The view is amazing and calms the soul. The fenced in area for our fury friends was just enough allowing them to wander/search and enjoy the time away from the city. Would have preferred to know how close the neighbors were. Also was under impression no fireworks allowed, but those around us used and scared the dogs. I also would recommend some maintenance on the outside of home to keep the same presentable fee as on the inside. Overall enjoyed the trip and was happy overall. Thank you.

Owners should be ashamed
2 days before arrival told the outside fireplace was broken. Dishwasher leaked all over the floor and mgt told us to put towels under it when running. Stoppers in kitchen sink were wrong ones so dishes could not even be hand washed. Refrigerator water and ice dispenser broken, where there was a drawer in kitchen raw plywood was screwed onto the cabinet base. Torn and filthy area rugs inside and out. Leather couch upstairs a mess. Hot tub cover broken and torn should be in the trash. Outside fabric furniture was filthy,stained. All bathrooms had missing pulls on cabinets. Hanging screen parts by hot tub. I have photos of all. Was then sent to a gorgeous cabin that was more than worth the money by mgt. So disgusting and anyone that gives this place a good review must not know what a gorgeous rental looks like

Wonderful Trip
My husband and I enjoyed our stay in Blue Ridge. The management company was extremely helpful as a storm blew through the area knocking out our power. We were moved to another cabin with power that was just as wonderful as the first. Greatly appreciated the assistance and a great time even with the storm issues.

Just what we needed
The house was incredible and gav e everyone their own space. The pool played pools and watched the games on Cable TV, I was able to grill out during the evening while looking over the incredible view of Blue Ridge. My way loved the outdoor fireplace that she used every night while catching up on her reading. 5 stars!

Breathtaking view!
This is an absolutely amazing cabin! The view from every window and every deck is just beautiful! We really enjoyed the outdoor fireplace, the hot tub, the fully stocked kitchen and the fenced in yard for our dog. It was also really nice having a fully paved road and driveway. My Volkswagen Jetta was able to handle the mountain roads without any issues. The cabin was clean, and convenient to eveything too. We truly enjoyed our stay and can’t wait to come back!

"Not Great"
The filters on the pictures make it look a little nicer than it is, but it is still in pretty good shape. There is a great view from the deck and it has a nice layout. The water is a milky white that you can't even see through it, so consider bringing a filter or bottled water if that makes you uneasy (as it did for us). The unit also needed a good cleaning. The view from inside was bad because the windows were so gross (streaks of "stuff" running down them). There were cobwebs on the railing and we could write our name on the table dust. These are not show-stoppers and we gave feedback so hopefully cleaning will be better moving forward. A few glasses (yes, literally) and some utensils/cookware were broken, which was unfortunate. And the upstairs bed has two very noticeable dips. (They should probably be flipped or replaced.) Overall it is a good unit but a cleaning + replacing a few things would make it a more enjoyable experience.

Amazing weekend
Cabin was beautiful, inside and out! It rained so we didnt get to use outdoor firepit but hot tub was great! Phenomenal management company, they followed up our trip with a call. Great cookware, kitchen had everything we needed. Bring your own spices if you want something other than salt and pepper. Will definitely be back with pups because the fenced in yard was solid.

A+ for view, C for maintenance & upkeep The management co had quick responses, however no follow through on any of the issues. This is our 5th year visiting Blue Ridge and we’ve never had problems before. The pics on the site are when it was new. They should update those pics or better maintain the property for paying guests.

Cabin is really nice, all wood and spacious. It had all the necessary things to be conformable. We only give four starts, because the neighbors are very close and you can hear them all day long and they can can hear you as well, also the road is challenging once you left the main road, please be careful in winter time.

I will start by saying I would stay here again, but I will include an honest constructive review. Cons: The drive to the property would require 4WD In snow or ice. It’s a bit intimidating when meeting other vehicles going the opposite direction because the road is very narrow. The upstairs suite has a jacuzzi tub, but the hot water does not last long enough to cover the jets so you can’t use that feature. The shower In the upstaits and main level suite are very large but only have 1 shower head and no door to the shower. Don’t plan on taking showers with your significant other. Someone Is going to freeze. A second shower head and some type of covering to the door would help a lot. The way it is currently designs causes wayer to he all over the floor. The hot tub was located on the basement level and was visible to the neighbors next door. No privacy there and you had to go out a basement door where there is red mud and all the way around the bottom deck. We didn’t end up using it due to these issues. The ice maker does not work. Pros: The upstairs suite room had a very comfortable bed. The kitchen was well equipped. The fenced in yard was great for our dogs! We had a minor issue operating the fireplace and the problem was quickly fixed by a very friendly employee. Everything else was in good repair and worked well. Comfortable cabin.

Unfortunately we were unable to stay at this cabin due to car concerns and it being so high in the mountains but the property management company went above and beyond for us to ensure a seamless stay. Not only did they reimburse the one night we couldn’t stay but they sent us a variety of cabin options to chose from that were easier to get to. They were 100% accommodating and everyone I spoke with was super nice and helpful. We will definitely be booking with them again!
