Desperately needs a deep, clean and updating.
The room smelled of mildew in the fridge, had actual mildew and mold inside. The floors were dirty with sticky spots on the carpet and debris on the edge of the carpet around the entire room. The under skirting of the bed was ripped and hanging. The elevator floors along with all of the lobby areas had what looked like weave hair and trash in piles. Every single time we were on the elevator. Nasty!

I was not happy with the work out area. Went to work out two days and towels were not picked up they have no spray or something to sanitize machines. People looking around for towels and stuff to clean the machines. Very dirty And also which they had more selection of places to eat there instead of having to go out. Already thinking next year might be a different place to stay. Also there were no trash cans in the room. Not one I had to go look for housekeeping to get a trash bag. Was very not happy this time

Got to hotel to check in, there were people standing around the lobby. Rooms were not ready. When we did get to the desk we were told "They gave our room AWAY". Offered another room WITHOUT the river view we paid for and REFUSED to refund the different. Devon (Who said he was the manager) was unhelpful. WILL NOT STAY HERE AGAIN

I did not like the difficulty getting coffee in the mornings. I understand that Monday and Tuesday nights may not be very busy, but coffee? There should be some way to get a coffee 24/7 in a hotel with a casino. And I mean WITHOUT having to go into the casino.

We were supposed to check in at 4. Stood in line at registration, then we were told we couldn’t check in because ‘the towel truck hasn’t gotten here’. Can we get our keys then wait to get in the room? No. Do you know when we should expect to get in? Dunno. Waited 15 mins, saw others who had been waiting going back through the line, got back in line - yes, they got to check in but you are in a different category. (Think that meant - you booked through Hotels.com) waited another 15 mins and a guy yelled to the crowd of us Anyone waiting for a smoking room, they are ready. Went through the line third time and said we didn’t really want a smoking room but we’ll take one if that’s all you have. Got a room. Smoke smell wasn’t very bad. Sink was busted, internet was slow (so I couldn’t post this there), three small pillows on a king bed. Water pressure for tub was weak. Paint, tile and trim were worn. We’ve stayed at The Horseshoe several times over the years, but it’s really showing its age and mgmt isn’t taking care of maintenance and basics like towels.

Shreveport is nasty in general. Hotel is aging. I was charged $10 to check in 20 minutes before 3pm.
