Accommodation In Cha-am
Cha-Am is one of the escape destinations of choice for Bangkok residents and with its charming beach and close proximity to the capital it is not hard to see why.
The main attraction to Cha-Am is undoubtedly the sandy beach which stretches for miles down the coast and is often sparsely populated leaving you to enjoy the surroundings in peace and quiet. The majority of Cha-Am hotels we offer are located right next to the seaside to ensure that swimming and sunbathing are never too far away during your retreat. The coast is also lined with a number of appetising seafood restaurants full of freshly caught fish often from the nearby fishing village just north of Cha-Am.
Aside from the serenity of the beach, Cha-Am is also home to a few attractions worth visiting. Perhaps the best known of these is Maruekhathaiyawan Palace, which was built in 1922 as a beachside getaway for the Thai royal family. These days it is no longer used and is open to the public as an insight into the royal world. The palace consists of a number of beautifully built teak houses on stilts and is located just south of Cha-Am on Petchakasem Road.
For a further dose of Thai culture, visiting Puek-Tian is also highly recommended. Located approximately 18km north of Cha-Am, this small seaside town will be within reaching distance of your Cha-Am hotel. The town is famous for its celebration of one of Thailand's greatest poets, Sunthon Phu. In his honour, various statues are placed out to sea which depict well known characters from his work.
Visiting nearby Hua Hin is also a great way to spend an evening when staying in a Cha-Am resort. The Hua Hin night market is well known for its enticing food as well as stalls selling the usual array of clothes, counterfeit goods and handicrafts. In other words it's perfect for those gifts to take back home.
