This was a fantastic option for a family visiting Story Land. The rooms were clean and spacious. They offer a fantastic breakfast that more than your typical continental options. The heated pool was well enjoyed by our young children. The staff was kind and clearly take pride in their business. We also weren’t expecting the lovely river out back. Would definitely stay here again. Also recommend the Red Fox Tavern right up the street, amazing food you can order to go.

Our room was clean and nicely updated. We had a mini fridge, as well as hairdryer, ironing board etc. The property itself was well taken care of and the gardens were beautiful!! Our only disappointment was breakfast. There were several people asking for decaf coffee (ourselves included) but there wasnt any. We also wish that there was some sort of juice available. For beverages they had regular coffee, a hot chocolate machine or water. There were also no meat options eg. Sausage or bacon.

Great value for family getaway.
For a small hotel (~30 rooms) this was very comfortable and afforded a lot of amenities, way more than I expected. The pull-out bed was ridiculously uncomfortable, but my son (ever the problem solver) realized that we could just put the mattress portion of the pull out on the floor which worked wonders and was then very comfortable. The staff were very warm and welcoming, and the room was quite spacious. Everything was clean and felt comfortable and only a bit dated in the room. The grounds were magnificent. Overall a great value. We'll be back.
