Nestled at the foot of over 1000 acres of wooded hiking trails only 7 miles from Cooperstown Dreams Park & Brewery Ommegang and just 2.7 miles from the heart of Cooperstown is a charming 2-bedroom cottage, perfect for a family vacation or romantic getaway. Hike our logging road trail to emerge at Star Field overlooking the pristine beauty of Lake Otsego. Enjoy a glass of wine as you lounge on the cozy front porch or gather round the hearth of our hand-built stone fireplace in the spacious living room.
Star Field Cottage can accommodate up to 7 guests (up to 3 couples or a family of 6 and up to 2 well behaved and house trained dogs!) and is beautifully appointed with many amenities, including some local treats like fresh coffee roasted right here in town at StageCoach Coffee and some of the best selections of beer from our very own world renowned Brewery Ommegang! There is a huge glassed in porch for dining as well as an outdoor area for your BBQing pleasures. Our property has a logging road that takes you to the top of the mountain with breathtaking views of Lake Otsego and access to the many trails that will take you all over the mountain or into downtown Cooperstown.
The Star Field Cottage is attached to our 1820's farmhouse, but entirely private including a separate entrance and it's own paved driveway and beautiful front yard with stone wall, wildflower garden, aromatic lilacs and views of the enchanted forest.
Easily accessible to Clark's Sports Center which is a State of the Art fitness center, gymnasium & site of the Baseball Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. Only 4 minute drive from downtown attractions including many great restaurants...Farmers Museum, Glimmerglass Opera House, Fenimore House Museum and National Baseball Hall of Fame. Historic Cherry Valley is only 7 miles north and also offers a variety of restaurants and arts programs.
Cooperstown is loaded with many other attractions than just the Baseball Hall of Fame. There are several other museums (Farmers Museum and Fenimore House) and also many restaurants to choose from. Outdoor activities are in abundance on and around Lake Otsego including boating, kayaking, swimming , hiking and biking. There two golf courses on the lake and both are unique and challenging for both beginners and experts.
