Location, location, location! My cabin is within 6 miles of the New River Gorge Bridge in a secluded wooded area. The cabin has three bedrooms, a full kitchen and a hot tub. The cabin is 6 miles form Adventures on the Gorge (AOTG). AOTG has multiple adventure activities, 3 restaurants/bars, pool, playground and much more. I am the founder and former CEO of AOTG and I would be glad to help you plan your trip or answer any questions bout the resort or the area in general.

When you visit Fayetteville, you’ll find a small town with a lot going on. It’s a great place to visit on vacation- friendly folks, small town atmosphere, and world class thrills, right next door to the New River Gorge National River. Secluded Feeling
Although about 5 minutes from Rt. 19, the location of the rental has a nice forest view from the deck with no neighbors in sight. The floor plan accommodated my group of five well and, upon arrival, the cabin was exceptionally clean- it even smell nice. If it is important to you, the outdoor are was every bit as nice as the cabin itself.

Decent Cabin
This cabin worked out well for our family trip to the New River Gorge area. The distance to the Canyon Rim visitor center and Fayetteville was perfect, just 10-15 minutes. The other park visitor centers were further south by 30 minutes to around an hour and a half. So this isn’t a central location for all of the park, but it is close to the main canyon viewpoint. Our main issue with the cabin was the lack of signage at the long driveway for our cabin, number 5. The owner sent a detailed explanation with directions, which was appreciated, but still caused some confusion and a few tries to find it because the driveway is shared with another private home and is very unassuming. A sign at the driveway would have saved us a few minutes of backtracking.

Great Home, Difficult to Locate
Overall, the stay was great. The cabin was comfortable, there was hot water, plenty of towels and pillows, and most comforts and necessities of home. The cabin was difficult to find but the owner was accessible and helpful. The floors and small bathroom rugs could have been cleaner. My only disappointment was that the listing included a washer and dryer in amenities but neither were present. I did not bring enough clothes with me and had to buy some at Walmart. I didn’t have the time to visit a public laundromat.

Romantic getaway
We had a wonderful time and no complaints about the property!! Just a few things for others considering or staying at this property…1. It is right beside the main road. It wasn’t a big deal and the traffic noise wasn’t bad especially not at night. 2. Turn the hot tub temp up as soon as you get there if you want to enjoy it your first evening. 3. There are some carpenter bees on the deck that are a little intimidating at first but completely harmless 4. There is only 1 television and it is located in the living room. 5. Despite an earlier review the road is fine. Our car is basically a sports car and we had no issue getting to the house. We had a wonderful stay and would absolutely stay here again!

Nice place but that hughway....
Nice place but didn't relieve the highway was right above/behind the cabin (in the photo). Not too much road noise but occasionaly you could hear it. Nice big place, great hot tub!

Hico is not Fayetteville
Although the listed location was "Fayetteville", it's actually north of New River Gorge, along U.S. Rt. 60 east of Hico. That added 15 minutes travel time, one way, to our scheduled activities.

Lovely secluded cottage minutes from New River Gorge activities
This 3-bedroom cottage was lovely! We were back off the road, with a view of the woods. The cottage was very well equipped, and immaculate. Plenty of towels and pillows, clean and user-ready hot tub. I would absolutely stay here again.

Good for the money
As others have said, we did have difficulty finding the place. I read that they aren’t allowed to put up a sign but maybe have some other type of landmark or something placed near the driveway? The cabin was nice and clean. The hot tub and fire pit were nice. Internet was spotty but we made do. My only real complaint is that the 2 back bedrooms smelled strongly of mold/musty. I didn’t look in the crawl space under the cabin but I assume that’s where the smell is coming from as nothing inside was wet or had visible mold.

Nice place!
The cabin was nice and it was pretty clean! The hot tub was great to have and we used it every night. It was difficult to find even with the directions given, I wish there were more markings to help guide us - if it were night, we would have had even more trouble finding it. The location was good for everything we wanted to do in the New River Gorge area. Overall we were satisfied with our stay!

New River Cabin
This cabin is beautiful and HUGE!. The rooms were large and comfortable. The place was clean, neat, and well maintained. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. Two issues that future renters need to know for full disclosure. The internet is a really weak signal. Paul left details on internet access and youtube TV. He explained that the only service available is hughesnet satellite. I happen to live in a rural mountainous area in PA so I know how cell signals and wifi come and go in valleys. However, I brought a verizon streaming device with me and hooked it up. This allowed us to be on the internet AND stream TV shows. So if you have verizon cell service, you can turn that signal into a wifi hotspot there. The hot tub was a bit of a disappointment. First, the tub in the pictures was replaced with a smaller one. We have a hottub at home, so I am familiar with their operation. When we arrived, it had just been cleaned and refilled. At check in, the tub was only 75 degrees so we couldnt use it the first night. The next morning, I checked it and it was up to 107degrees!!! That's hot enough to kill someone. So before we left,I lowered the setpoint to 99 and opened the lid. When we got back, it had cooled to 102. That's still warmer than we like, but manageable. The tub seemed to run and heat constantly and I couldn't figure out how to get the pump to shut off. To summarize, we enjoyed our stay and LOVED the cabin. Just a couple of issues to be aware of.
