we really enjoyed our stay . we loved the balcony with the stream running behind us .didn't care for the rustic sink in the bathroom , it left little area to set your stuff .

As an older hotel it's not too bad. The trolley stops right in front which is a definite plus. The front desk people are awesome and very friendly. We stayed in the 3rd bldg. The elevator is a little cranky and could use a deep clean, especially the corners but overall it isn't that bad. The room was clean as well as the bathroom. They definitely need to put in new pillows because ours seemed like they stuffed 2 old flat pillows into the pillow case which made it more like a cinder block to sleep on. Overall I would stay there again.

Positives:, staff was friendly, nice balcony view, decent location, overall quite, coffee pot with coffee and fridge included. Negatives: Bed had a smell, bring your own mattress topper as theirs had discussing staines, not sure if, biscuits, pancakes, cereal qualify as breakfast but I found it in appealing, room and blanket also had an odd smell. A man living in the house behind the place likes to feed a black bear from his roof. Coming back at night we seen the same black bear roaming around the bottom floor on the outside so I wouldn't advise getting a room on the first floor as you make walk out of the room face to face with him. Was barely worth the 80 per night. Doing it again I'd look for better options mainly due to the stained mattress and smell of the room

Loved the old vintage vibe of the hotel. We saw bears multiple times throughout our stay. Downtown Gatlinburg was only a 10 min walk. The creek outside our balcony was extremely pretty as well.
