A Wonderful owner operated cabin! Located in Gatlinburg TN. Five (5) bedroom with five (5) bathroom cabin located 0.4 mile to one of three community pools. Only about 3 miles to the strip downtown Gatlinburg and the GSM National Park, less than a mile to Ober Gatlinburg Ski Resort . Five bedroom ALL with private bath, SMART TVs, and NEW MEMORY FOAM MATTRESSES (4 kings and 1 queen). This luxurious cabin has GREAT VIEWS of the Smokies and seasonal views of City lights, in a beautiful wooded setting, complete with the Ober Tram, literally right above you! Two deck levels, 2 HOT TUBs, and a lower level rec-room with pool table. Pet friendly with approval and fee.

RULES: Must be at least 25 to book. Additional guest fee over 10 guests No 3rd party bookings. Disclosed pet fee with approval, $500 undisclosed pet fee, $50/hr late check out fee. No one night reservations less then one month in advance, 5 minimum stay during holidays. Cancellation Policy No refunds, travel insurance is offered. $1000 refundable security deposit required.

Lovely place. I would have given a 5 star, but the bedroom TVā€™s did not work. The host was very nice over the phone trying to help but the problem was never resolved. One of our guests had just had a hip replacement and spent a lot of time in the bedroom. It would have been nice for her to have a tv in her room as advertised.

Had a great time here with old friends 60-70. The 5 bedrooms with bathrooms were perfect for our 4 1/2 couples. Pool table, hot tubs and view from the deck were a plus and the parking and house were easy to get in and out of. I recommend this place and hope to be back!

Fun family trip!
First off Kate was a great host! She was very accommodating to our needs before and during the trip! If you are looking for a great view of the mountains and to see more bears then you can keep up with this is definitely the right location!! Be prepared to see all the bears and to white knuckle your way up and down the mountain! The only reason I did not give this a 5 star was because being dog friendly there really was no where for the dogs to go to the bathroom. We had to walk down the road every time. Which isnā€™t a big deal we are a very active family. Itā€™s just like I said the bears are everywhere. If I could I would say 4.8 stars out of 5. I would reccomend this cabin to my family and friends just probably will leave the dogs behind next time! Iā€™m eager to be hosted by Kate in one of her beach locations one day!

Great weekend
The welcoming committee was a young best that snuck up on us, with in about 3 foot,as we were unloading the car. We were able to scare him off safely. In total we saw about 7 to 8 bears, one being a momma and her cub. The cabin was beautiful and was perfect for the group we had. We enjoyed sitting out on the becks looking for bears, lol. Thank you for a wonderful stay. PS, we had a hard rain Saturday morning and we noticed that the sky light in the kitchen, closest to the oven has a small drip. Just wanted to let you know before it got worse.

House was clean. We saw 6 bears over our 5 day stay including one trying to get into the back of our SUV - with people in the driveway - as we loaded to head home. Reminder to be aware of your surroundings. Home was as advertised. Recommend.

Nice little get away
Our family travels to Pigeon Forge area every year. We booked this one last minute as our previously booked cabin fell through. Rental agency was great to work with. Cabin was clean and decently stocked with our needs. Beds were comfy, outside space was decent. It was a little smaller on the common area than I expected but worked out okay for 4 adults, a toddler and a medium size dog. I wouldn't recommend this if you have a dog as there are no flat grassy areas nearby for taking them out. This cabin is directly under the sky tram for Ober but wasn't distributive to us even when outside. View is okay but mostly obscured by trees. About 20 min drive to Gatlinburg down town/Pigeon Forge strip. For mountains roads not too bad to drive. Would stay here again

Spacious cabin with nice accommodations and views
This cabin was the perfect place for 7 guests. Plenty of room to spread out in different areas of the home. The pool table and hot tub were a hit. The 2 decks provided great views. A mama bear and her 3 cubs like to visit the area so definitely DO NOT leave any food in or around your vehicle for any length of time. The cabin was clean and had all the essentials we needed. I highly recommend this place as the 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms allowed us to not be crowded. The beds were super comfortable and the availability of the washer and dryer allowed for us to do our laundry without leaving the premises. We did not have time during our stay to visit the community pool area, but it was nice to know we had access to it had we had the time.

There were 9 of us and 2 small dogs. The road up to the cabin is a little challenging but all blacktop so it was doable. We saw bears almost everyday, including a bear with 3 cubs. The cabin was not too far from the attractions, which was nice. I would stay there again!

This property was exactly as advertised. Zero problems, great view and amnities The pool table was great to have as well as the dual jacuzziā€™s. Two things to point out: 1) if you want to venture into the national park, the location is perfect. If you want to spend time in Pigeon Forge, you will have to go through some traffic to get there. 2) the property is pretty far up the mountain, makes for awesome views, but curvy roads (some driveways in the area are very tight, not this one, plenty of room).

70th birthday celebration
We were celebrating my daughterā€™s 70th birthday. My 4 children, 3 spouses and me. This was our first mountain vacation being life-long flatlanders. Our 2 drivers found the mountain roads EXTREMELY challenging. The lodge was very nice but a bit tight living room sitting space. LR only sat 7 comfortably - the object of the trip was to spend time together. Family helped the sun comeup over the mountains each morning. The only bear we saw on the premises was the permanent one by the porch. Overall a great time had by all. Sunny weather the whole time, but a bit cool a couple of mornings. I DO have one suggestion easy for you to deal with. I truly dislike soggy hand towels. Each bathroom had just one for two people. I had the bedroom that with the shared bath on the first floor. That towel became soggy very soon. Maybe have 3-4 extras in that bath, or a supply elsewhere. We donā€™t do a full load of laundry for a couple of hand towels. Good experience - except traffic unbelievable and I understand that is normal.

House was nice and clean. It was enough room for our entire family 9 adults and one child. We saw bears every day. Last few days we saw a mama bear and baby cub. It sure was a fast climber. It climbed the tree right behind the cabin. We enjoyed our stay.

We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin!
We really enjoyed our stay and how close it was to get to everything! We especially like the hot tubs and seeing the bears daily, especially the two mama bears that had a baby bear with them. I would advise everyone not to feed the bears. One of the other cabins fed one of the bears and the bear kept coming back looking for food. Keep the doors locked on the cabin and automobiles at all times!

We thoroughly enjoyed everything about our stay at Just a Family Lodge! Kate was excellent at communicating with us which made our stay even better. The cabin was clean & very roomy for our family of four & fur baby. The kitchen is very well stocked & had everything we needed to be able to prepeare & serve meals. We enjoyed family game nights from the selection of board games provided at the cabin. The views were great as the trees were just beginning to bud, & we all enjoyed watching the Ober tram overhead! Although there are neighbors on both sides of the cabin, the area itself was so quiet & peaceful & easy to get to from S. Baden Drive. Hot tubs worked great & the outdoor furniture was comfy for viewing those glorius mountain sunrises while sipping coffee. This stay was just what we needed to re-energize. We appreciate that Kate understands pets are family & welcomes them with open arms! This cabin did not disappoint & we hope to stay again!
