From the listing I knew to expect rustic. The outside & the sleeping quarters were as pictured. Seeing that it was an outdoor kitchen I didn’t expect anything glamorous. The blackstone was absolutely filthy & basically unuseable. It looked like it hadn’t been cleaned off after several uses. We eventually got it cleaned off enough to use a pan on it. We did not feel comfortable enough to cook directly on it as intended. The wood burning stove required to be sprayed Pam when used, it left a greasy feel all over the kitchen. Due to the listing stating that “dishes & utensils” were provided we did not pack any. On our 2nd night, I realized I couldn’t find the said plates or forks. When I reached out to Jacob, he responded immediately, he told me that they supply cooking utensils & pots & pan, that I should just go to the store to get what we needed. I wish the listing would have been accurate in what type of dishes would be provided. The bathroom in the bunk room was gross. There were more dead bugs in there than you could count on the wardrobe. The shower was gross & looked as tho it either hadn’t been used in forever or not cleaned between uses. Thankfully the bathroom in the loft room was beautiful & clean, we were able to use just that one. The kids raved about how comfortable the beds were & how great they slept. The backyard lead directly to the lake. We spent almost our entire time down in the kayaks & on the dock fishing. There was a fire pit with some weird chairs that we choose not to use. There was also a table with broken seats that we choose to stay away from for safety. The dock was in great shape, we hung out on that the whole time. The “pathway” to the lake was a few pavers, some were cracked &/or had fire ant hills growing on/between them. Not exactly the most useful path to the lake. The kayaks were the best part of the cabin & why we booked this property! Since it was the beginning of the season we had to clean them up a bit to use them, they were covered in spiders webs & yuck from the winter. The life vests had been left out all winter & some of them were just too gross to use. We were able to clean off 2 of them for the kids to use when we went out in kayaks. We brought along our puppy, it’s a very pet friendly type of property. We would not choose to book this property again. If you were going to stay here I would also recommend that you bring everything you’d need because what is provided is not very clean &/or accurate.
