The pool was not in service for the majority of our trip. Customer service overall was wonderful however we did have two instances that felt awkward. When we first arrived to the hotel, we were checked into a room that smelled of rotting rear-end. Very pungent and after 30 minutes in the room we informed the front desk of the concern. They moved us rooms but the response was as if we were an inconvenience despite being very apologetic. During that transition there were several comments between workers about the importance that we don’t get a room upgrade (which is confusing to me as we paid extra for a balcony with a city view) and we weren’t seeking an upgrade, we were seeking a room that smelled and felt clean. A few nights later we had brought dessert back to the hotel and called the front desk to see if we could get some plastic forks from the breakfast room, we were informed that they don’t normally give out forks to guests (they are literally in the dining hall for grabs in the morning), and he agreed to make an exception then when we arrived to the front desk to grab the plastic forks he again reminded us that the plastic forks are not for guests. The interaction once again felt sightly degrading as if our request was a huge inconvenience. The pictures we viewed when booking the room was misleading. The rooms are extremely small and the beds are fulls, not queens. The rooms are outdated, there is visible water damage and cleanliness is concerning. Wouldn’t recommend.

Location was great. One block to the beach. Beach is very narrow in this area. Plenty to do in the area for shopping and eating if you can get through the street and sidewalk crowds. Room was dated, had torn wallpaper and rust around plumbing in the bathroom. Sink in bathroom was a tiny corner sink, 9" across the back, coming to triangle point at you. Just washing hands slopped and splashed soap and water all over the walls. Probably why everything is rusted and torn. Driving around Honolulu is a nightmare, and I'm from NY! I would suggest cabs or ride shares instead of renting. Garage here is terrible. Only holds about 30 cars, is very cramped, and very difficult to even drive in. Parking in a spot is another adventure. If you find a spot, you may not be able to maneuver to actually get in it, or out of it. I saw drivers leave because they couldn't get an average sized car in a spot. Pool was being serviced 3/6 days we were here. It was great the days we had it. Hallways are extremely warm. At least our floor (9) and the pool floor (2) were. Louver windows at the ends of our hall were open the entire time we were there. There were no levers to close them. Waikiki is a nightmare for traffic with all the scooters and sport bikes racing all over the place.

Clean, updated fixtures, nice breakfast, good view, great price, great location, great service. However, I’ve never been in a hotel before without a mirror where you could actually see more than waist up. So just a suggestion there. But it was such a good hotel choice overall. I would stay again.

The parking was very confusing at the beginning since had a hard time finding the garage in the dark. Thankfully we found a spot each evening otherwise would have had to go to the outside lot close by. The free continental breakfast was good with variety of fresh fruit every AM plus hot oatmeal, slices of meat and cheese cubes etc. Residents of the hotel also were able to use the restaurant in the hotel and get 50% off the entrees not the sides , very delicious! The shower in our room was good with a large spray. Room service daily was very much appreciated even though we slept in! There was even a little Mart inside open from 09-9 pm daily which was night was an evening snack with microwaves in 2nd floor which we did not know until close to the end of our week stay. Spendy since there was a resort fee and parking fee daily. Walking distance to Waikiki!

We had a pleasant experience at this property. As others mention it is a bit dated, but everything is clean and in good condition. The housekeeping staff did a fantastic job. We asked for additional towels and a tea kettle and they brought one up within minutes. Pool was comfortable and clean. The free breakfast had cold cuts and cheeses, hard boiled eggs, oatmeal, juices, fresh fruit, danishes and toast. The location can’t be beat. You’re a two minute walk from the beach and a four minute walk from the hula show. They had beach chairs available to borrow. My only complaint is that it’s a pain to get pool towels, but I understand why it’s done that way.
