We’ve stayed here many times and have had good experiences before. But this time front desk staff was unwelcoming and unpleasant, seemed annoyed to be doing their jobs. Only one elevator in use. Room was comfortable, clean, nice. Only one restaurant open, full of flies, slow service. Only one bar open in the casino and short staffed.

We found the smoke smell overwhelming. In order to get to the elevators to access to our rooms we had to walk through part of the casino. The smoke smell was overwhelming. One of the two elevators was under repair so that meant a few waits for the one functional elevator. The room itself was okay, nothing fancy. The TV set had very limited channels and had fairly low resolution. There was no guide and one is forced to slowly scan the limited selection (because it took a few seconds for the channel to appear on each stop). When the shower was activated (by pulling up on a gate) half the water was spraying out of the faucet and half to the shower head. This made for a weak shower flow. (This should have been an easy and cheap fix.) The toilet was to low which made it difficult for one member of our party to get up. The only positive was that one of the lights in the bathroom had a dimmer switch. This allowed a dim "night-light" to be left on in case of a late night visit. The restaurant was terrible. We waited for 50 minutes after our order for the food to arrive. The food itself was not above average, but the prices were. Suffice to say we will not be staying here again.

an awesome hotel for a road trip!
we were jonesing for a road trip, it had been two years since the last one. we love Jackpot, so it was an easy choice. we also love Cactus Petes so it was an easy choice there too. it was close to my birthday so i got a 15 dollar food voucher to use at either of their two main restaurants, which was extra cool. only two things would have made it better, one was out of anyone's control. we really wanted to use the pool but it was very cold and windy those two days. the other thing was that only one elevator was running, which made things kind of crowded at times when several people wanted to use the elevator at the same time. otherwise, it was great!
