Fine hotel overlooking Silver Beach
Location - on the bluff above Silver Beach - meant that much of St. Joseph's tourist draws were within walking distance. The Inn itself was very nice, a tad dated but still in fine condition. The Bistro restaurant was pricey but fine food - esp the omlette. (They also make the cookies available in the lobby in the afternoon.) Only one quibble - we were going to be interviewed for TV news, we asked if we could use the library for 20 minutes or so, but when we came downstairs we saw a hotel employee setting up for a vendor interview there. Asked if the employee was aware of our request - and were told that they wouldn't 'kick anyone out' unless we were paying for the room. Which was fair, but when I was in the hotel business a guest request always trumps an employee's use (especially when the restaurant is available for them instead).

The view, the room, the people and especially the restaurant (The Bistro) were all over the top. We stayed off season, and it was wonderful. We're already talking about going back next month with friends and I've passed it on to another foodie couple that are looking into it.

Very close to the train. Room was clean and smelled fresh. Was not able to use Uber, needed a private driver. But the hotel was in a great location to walk around.
