Hotel Seri Malaysia Kulim
The park surrounding Mengkuang Dam is a popular place for the locals to relax. You can take a nice walk along the trails that skirt the dam through orchid and rubber plantations - they're also excellent for jogging. The Mengkuang Dam is the venue for the annual Penang International Dragon Boat festival, where traditionally built boats race through the waters of the dam. If you love golf, the Kulim Golf and Country Resort is a fantastic 27-hole golf course to enjoy a morning on the green.
If you're looking for peaceful surrounds, the Junjung Waterfalls Recreational Park offers stunning waterfalls and a lovely natural environment. During the right season you can buy fresh fruit directly from the orchid owners, and enjoy a picnic by the falls, which are also a great spot for a swim. If you're looking for adventure, try white water rafting down the Sungai Sedim River, or pick a more sedate section and kayak through the waterways. The hike to Mount Bungsu's peak at 658m offers a spectacular panorama, and is the best place to really enjoy the native wildlife. In other areas of the park you can try mountain climbing, cycling or dirt biking in specially made trails and tracks.
To learn about the natural environment, visit Pahau in the Forest Reserve of Mount Bungsu. You can tour the research facilities, take part in forest replanting or follow a guided tour through the jungle. The Tree Top Walk above Sungai Sedim takes you through the rainforest canopy, and offers a breathtaking view from the top. Another feast for your eyes is from the peak of Mount Bintang, as you pass fast flowing rapids and waterfalls on your journey up the mountain. At a height of 1862m, it's the largest mountain in the range and once you reach the summit the peak is actually the boundary mark for the states of Kedah and Perak, so you can stand in the two states at the same time. There are many caves to explore on the mountain, as well as the chance to try mountain climbing and master some of the best rock faces in Malaysia.
Kulim is a wonderful city that's surrounded by spectacular nature. For a great holiday where you can enjoy the true delights of Malaysia, come and enjoy this city on your next holiday. All you need is a flight to Malaysia and great Kulim accommodation and you're all set for a fantastic vacation.
