The Granvia exceeded all my expectations! We were only going to stay for a few days and switch to a hotel that was less expensive, but my daughter wasn’t feeling well and then later I wasn’t feeling so great and the level of care and thoughtfulness on the part of the staff made me realize that it was worth staying there for an entire eight days. When we felt better and wanted to go out, they were very helpful and helping us with bookings even going the extra mile to try to find an embroidery class for me. My husband and I stayed at this hotel 15 years ago and it’s even more wonderful than we remember it then. Because none of the standard rooms were available, some of our days were spent on the 14th and 15th floor, which allowed us to take advantage of the lounge and the personal concierge not to mention the most amazing views of Kyoto. if you have the resources, I recommend the Granvia.

This was the nicest hotel we stayed in during our trip to Japan. The reception area was beautiful, with 2 restaurants nearby. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and the shower was large with great water pressure. It's at the Kyoto train station, so the transportation, shopping and food are right there. Highly recommended.

Great location at Kyoto train station. This was our 3rd time staying there. Usually stay for a night after traveling outside of Kyoto before leaving to Kansai Airport. A lot of dining and shopping options. The Japanese set breakfast was very good. Rooms are clean, but old, especially the bathroom. They won’t let you sit in the lounge and they won’t hold your luggage from the time you check out at 12 pm to when you leave for the airport.

The room was clean, and the maids cleaned the room very nicely everyday. The room I stayed in was a bit far from the elevators, but that’s a good way to ensure you get your steps for the day. The location is very convenient with easy access to Kyoto station.

We booked this hotel for 3 nights, and planned to move to Osaka for 4 nights. Since the concierge is so nice and helpful, we cancelled the Osaka hotel and stayed in this one for 7 nights straight. The hotel is very convenient located inside the Kyoto train station. Which offers big shopping center, many restaurants ( make sure you find them) and shops. The room is big. Highly recommended.
