The property and its location are very good. Right on the Lake. Charles beach with outstanding views. Our room, though not bad, was missing a mini fridge where we could store our leftover food, for example. The dining options are not the best. After the first day, we preferred to dine at the restaurants at the L'auberge. The restaurants at the Golden Nugget both have strange timings, and their quality is not great. At the Landry, our pasta dishes had hair in them and we had to send them back. The Asian food at the Lilies restaurant was flavorless. The customer service of most of the people we interacted with was below par. Not only did most of them not even smile when they were interacting with us, but in most cases almost everybody appeared surly and disinterested. That included the front desk staff, the salon and spa staff, and the restaurant staff with the exception of literally just one person.

This hotel is trying hard to loose its status. The hotel halls to the rooms are filthy. So bad I would recommend a possible carpet clean. The elevator was filthy. I do understand this is a casino HOWEVER the Casino/ hotel was relatively quiet. Room was nice but thought it was weird that there was a curtain in between the bed and the garden tub. Should be a glass wall. Not really sure what they are using the $30 for resort fee but it wasn’t to clean this Hotel.

I enjoyed my stay. The only thing I would have changed is that the room should have had a refrigerator in it. Now days there are many people who are diabetic and need at least a dormitory size small fridge to keep their insulin in.
