Accommodation In Lao Cai\n

Close to the border with China, Vietnam’s Lao Cai is located in the northern part of the country, surrounded by towering hills and mountains, rolling fields and rice paddies. It’s authentically scenic and, unsurprisingly, the main reason most people visit the area is for the natural beauty. You can reach Lao Cai from Hanoi and from various Chinese cities and it’s a major trading area. It’s a key city between Hanoi, Kunming, and Sapa. There’s a decent selection of places to eat and drink, as well as a good choice of Lao Cai accommodation.

Things to see and do

Take some time to hike in the stunning mountains and enjoy the amazing views in each direction. If you’re feeling energetic you could try and reach the summit of Fansipan, the tallest mountain in the whole of Vietnam. There are also several different ethnic tribes that live in the area, and you can visit traditional villages and experience a completely different way of life. A trip to Lao Cai and the surrounding areas really is a journey of discovery. Visit the magical and Cave of Fairies for myths and legends, and the fascinating Hoang Yen Chao Castle with its blend of Asian and European styles. Nearby, Sapa is popular for its incredible activities and sights. The Ancient Stone Field is a top attraction, and Love Waterfall manages to melt even the hardest of hearts! The lively Sunday market at Bac Ha is only a couple of hours away by road.
