The River House ~ Maple Valley

Stargazing at its best. Kick back & relax in this calm and peaceful escape while listening to the sound of the Cedar River whilst in the hot tub! The River House is a very special & healing place to recharge, have a romantic getaway or simply spend time with those important to you. Work from home? Work here in our dedicated office & then relax the night away. Come and make some great memories! Enjoy plenty of hiking, skiing & swimming nearby. Located 30 miles from Seattle, WA.

The cottage is 1100 square feet. There are three floors in total. The Main floor consists of the master bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, living and dining rooms. The Loft on the 2nd floor is equipped with a full size futon that comfortably sleeps 1 adult or two children (special requests only). The 3rd floor (we call it the Birds Nest) is on the top floor. The Birds Nest has a perfect view of the river and you can hear it rushing by. It can only be accessed via the Loft and while there is a long stairway that lends privacy, there is no door. There is a window AC unit in the Bird’s Nest because it can get hot in that space during the summer & there is a mini-split system for the lower floor (one in the primary bedroom & 1 in the main living area). The space is ideal for 1-4 people as the Loft is a great gathering place. The Loft doors can be closed for full privacy to separate the main floor from the upper floors. There are 3 Smart TV's in the home, one on each floor. The kitchen is ready for you to whip up amazing meals & create your favorite drinks. Peaceful Secluded Getaway

This place was the perfect stay for our long weekend getaway. It was close to where we wanted to explore, while still being serene and secluded as we came back to unwind. We had booked our days solid with plans, but enjoyed our time there so much we wound up staying in each evening to soak it all in! The place has all of the necessities, along with fun extras like the hot tub, fire pit(s), a plethora of games, etc. Attention to spare items like toiletries, coffee, baggies, laundry and other supplies was also appreciated as we didn’t need to rush to the store for incidentals. The place is clean, comfortable and calming. From the time of booking to checkout (which was a breeze), Sarah was incredibly attentive and communication excellent. We will be back!

Loved the stay. It was "well stocked" with everything one could need to enjoy their stay. The river and hot tub in the back are automatic "smile generators". The owner was responsive, timely, and caring regarding my needs.

Winter at the River House

Beautiful little house deep in the woods. Extremely quiet and peaceful but still does have some nice shops/food close by. Loved the crows nest bedroom and of course the hot tub. Don't miss taking a quick dip in the cold river before jumping back in the warm water. Would stay again anytime.

We had a wonderful stay at this lovely place. It was clean and beautifully furnished, making for a very comfortable experience. An oasis along the river

We just stayed for a few short days but man how we wish we could have stayed longer! It was a difficult decision each day trying to decide if we were going to go into Seattle and explore or just relax at home in the wonderful property. The communication with the property owner was top notch from general communication to specific questions. The house was immaculate and had many comforts of home which we appreciated. The River House Gem

If you like to get away from the hustle of city dwelling and enjoy nature with all the amenities, this is your place! While neighbors are close in proximity, it is a quiet and peaceful setting. The house is well appointed and cozy. An open back deck with a grill, dining area and hot tub to enjoy the sounds of the river and wildlife. There are chairs in the back yard to enjoy the sights of the river. Mt. Rainier is just a 50 - 60 minute drive, which is also worth exploring. Sarah is very an exception host and willing in going above and beyond to make your stay welcoming and relaxing.

Peaceful and convenient

This was an out of the way gem! You could hear a pin drop during the night. We had our window open. The sound of the river was so relaxing. We even heard elk bugling Even though it’s out of the way place it’s only minutes from major grocery stores, freeways, and restaurants. Host was quick to respond and upbeat. The house is very cute and clean. Appliances and furnishings were very nice. Kitchen stocked well with dishware , condiments , and spices. Bed was very good. We can see how kids would love the upstairs playroom and bedrooms. Staircase steep and tight so bathroom access during the night better to sleep on first floor(it has a bigger bed also). There is no cable so local news isn’t available but there is a big smart tv you can use your accounts to access. I would recommend this home to couples or young families. It’s very charming.

Perfect getaway

So glad we found this amazing property. It was super clean, good communication from Sarah, and the kitchen well stocked. It’s obvious a lot of love and thought went into this property. We fell asleep listening to the river from the crows nest bedroom. The neighborhood is super quiet with wild elk eating dinner at dusk. Hard to imagine it’s super close to a big city.
