The Space:
Tucker’s Retreat, named after our dog Tucker, is a family and dog-friendly cabin nestled in the woods of WV. You’ll enjoy a fully stocked kitchen, open floor plan with living and dining area, surrounded by large windows to let the light in. Whether the snow is falling or the stars are shining, you’re sure to enjoy the views. Head to the loft and cozy up with a good book or gather around the dining table for a fun family game night. We’d love to host your family, friends or small group!

The cabin includes:
- 3 bedrooms - Bedroom 1 - King Bed, Bedroom 2 - Queen Bed, Bedroom 3 - Double Bed and Bedroom 4 (basement) - 2 Twins and a Sleeper Sofa in the Living Room
- Chalet-style lofted ceiling with large windows that let in tons of light
- Loft area - perfect spot for reading a good book
- Fully stocked kitchen with a dishwasher
- Central heat and AC (it gets hot outside in WV in the summer!)
- Fastest WiFi you can get in the WV mountains (25 Mbps)
- Pool Table downstairs, perfect hangout for the kids

Outside you’ll find:

- Small lake just 100 yards away from the house, perfect for fishing or dipping your toes in

Just a short drive:
- Drive 15 min into Berkeley Springs for amazing restaurants, shopping, and dozens of festivals
- We're nestled in the Cacapon Mountains, directly next to Cacapon Resort State Park. The park is free to enter, and has a ton of activities -- including another lake and beach, clay shooting, horseback riding, an 18-hole golf course, and miles of hiking trails.
- Just a 10 min drive from our place is a small local brewery, Berkeley Springs Brewing Company. They're constantly churning out new beer (literally every week); we're big fans of their IPA and sour beers. They also have a smoker with fantastic BBQ!

We often take our three little kids and dog to the cabin with us, so we're very family- and dog-friendly. Unfortunately we don't allow cats (we're allergic).

NOTE: We have an indoor fireplace, but unfortunately it's not usable and is only decorative.

Our cabin also has access to a small private lake (shared with just a few other cabins). It's about a 100-yard walk down the hill from our place. The walk can be a bit rocky and steep, but you can also drive down there as well (less than 5 minutes). The lake can sometimes get a little muddy near the beach. We have a few water shoes you can use, but please consider bringing your own flip flops or water shoes.

Decent place
The area and stay over one the small issues of the home itself. Shower handles and controls are in need of attention as they don’t function well. Hot tub controls are a bit unresponsive, cover clips are mostly broken. Pool table is in bad shape. All but 1 stick is broken. Owner unwilling to do late checkout or early checkin even when the cleaners are not there.

Cousin reunion
The house was in a beautiful, private and quiet location with a lovely deck, which was enjoyable for the spouses who weren't cousins and needed to get away from the rest of us for awhile. We appreciated the kitchen table where we could lay out genealogy, photos, etc. while having the large dining table in the family room for meals. The dinnerware, glassware and cookware were very sufficient for us and only had to run the dishwasher at night. The coffee maker however was very slow, may need to be cleaned or replaced. One of the chairs in the dining room was weak and did become unglued. The beds were very comfortable as was the bedding. Nice hot water for showers. And the best of surprises, we were able to use the fire pit!

Cozy Rustic Mountain Cabin
Four of us spent a week continuing a long time friendship dating back to 1966. The cabin provided us with the perfect location to reminisce, visit some great restaurants and tourist areas, get in some awesome fishing, and make new memories.

Unexpected problem
I’m not big on writing reviews but our family came to stay here for our mothers memorial service nearby. After driving 9+ hours we were greeted by the master bedroom bed not clean, someone just slept in it then the bathroom attached was unclean with used wet towels all over the floor. First impression was terrible. Kitchen stove had grease all over the top. Toilet chain broke so we had to flush the toilet by sticking our hand in the back and pulling up plug. We called Tony and he was very upset with the condition that we were dealing with. We had to wait 3 hours for a cleaning lady and then we were told we would have to leave for awhile so they could clean. We refused for this to happen so we waited on the deck. Cleaning couple were super sweet and that made it better. The rest of the cabin was nice and the area very quiet so that was also good. Seating and furniture were uncomfortable I don’t think this situation that happened to us is common but it happened. Hot tub and downstairs is very nice as well. All in all I would not book this cabin again but would stay in that area.

Nice Quiet Few Days
It was nice to get away and relax in a secluded location. Enjoyed the hot tub. Had a good time walking around Berkeley Springs (even though most shops were closed). All in all it was a nice time away from work and hectic life.

Perfect Weekend Getaway
Recently stayed at a cabin in Berkeley Springs, WV, and found it to be a refreshing retreat. While it’s no Marriott, and yes, you’ll find the odd cobweb which only adds to its rustic charm, the cabin itself was neat and clean. The kitchen came well-stocked with all the necessary cookware, making meal preparation easy and convenient. Communication with the host was both timely and courteous, ensuring a smooth experience from start to finish. The surrounding area was exceptionally quiet and dark at night, offering a level of peace and tranquility that’s hard to come by. For anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life, this cabin offers a serene getaway.

Definitely Nice quiet peaceful spot and a pleasant views. Lake wasn’t on the property but was in a walking distance. The AC/ heating parameters was set little strict. But overall was pleasing.

Great property and location with an attentive owner, but this is not a place for serious cooks--the kitchen lacked wineglasses, small plates, grater, blender, colander, and other items. The beds were great but there were not enough bedside lamps to go around, and the overhead fan in one bedroom was not working properly. There were several burned out light bulbs and no replacements and a broken chair at the dining room table. Basically this is a great place that felt a little incomplete.

Beautiful getaway in the fall
We really enjoyed our stay here, especially because the fall colors were on full display. Cabin had almost everything we needed, bed in the master is fantastic, and the balcony and fire pit were huge perks. Also really enjoyed the area - just a short drive to hiking trails, breweries and restaurants. Do not miss Cold Run Winery down the street. If you’re going to cook a lot I recommend bringing your own sharp knives, sheet pan and frying pan - there are mostly larger pots available. There were some basic oil and spices available and lots of coffee which is always appreciated. Place could use a few light bulb replacements and a deep clean of the common game shelves and but otherwise we found the place clean and well kept.

The house needs repairs and the cleaning service should be replaced. Bedding not clean in 3 out of 5 beds, broken furniture, general disrepair. Even the handbook, an ancient 3-ring binder was missing its cover and not updated with the current wifi password. They are not going out of their way to host you. The house is near a small pond, not a lake. We brought kayaks thinking it was a lake — don’t bother. What it does offer: It is a big house, there is AC, a new refrigerator and grill and they do allow dogs.

Great Location
was a wonderful location and great spot to get away and enjoy nature! Their are great hiking trails within 5 minutes and the lake just across the street from the cabin is perfect to go fishing and just enjoy the scenery. Would love to go back again in the future!

Wish we had more time!
I chose this property as an overnight on our trip to VA beach, because it is midway. I think we were all a bit disappointed to have to head out in the morning because the area and home were beautiful. I would definitely come back to spend more time here.

Lovely home
It is a really nice home. Need a little more attention toward cleaning. Overall the house was clean. Cabin is beautiful equipped with everything needed in home. Huge space, total comfort. Everyone enjoyed the space. Manager was very helpful, and gave every help we could get.
