Nice and Recently Renovated
Very nice hotel on the water. Not sure where the reviews stating the hotel needs renovations are basing their comments. I’m a very frequent travelers for work and am very particular about the hotels I stay in and usually stay in 4.5 - 5 star properties. I had concerns when booking due to those reviews, so I called the property before booking a d learned that all rooms were renovated 2 years ago a d upon arrival found the property to be very nice. It’s an old building so even with renovations there will be evidence of the buildings age, but you will have these little quirks at any property of such age. You will be very pleased with staying at this property.

Apparently my review gets kicked out when i mention that i couldnt get change for a $10 at the front desk. While im at it, let me mention that my eife walks with a cane, and after discussing handicap parking, right outside the check in desk, the young msn still gave us a room on the 3rd floor. No elevator. Kind of short sighted on his part.

Danford's has always been a classic icon in Port Jefferson harbor, and after having lived in the area for over 25 years before relocating to Florida my family was excited to finally stay at the Inn. We found its coastal decor charming and the views of the harbor sunset gorgeous, it was also fun to be in the center of all the village activity. On the downside, the rooms are very small and we did have issues with the dated plumbing...a little disappointing at this price point but we would definitely return in the future.

Check in was supposed to be at 4 Pm. Our room wasn't ready untill after 5 pm. Rug had a big stain and needed to be vacuumed better. Location is great but fot the cost of the room, service could have been better.

My husband and I travel for a living. The first thing i noticed was there was no recycling trash cans in the room or the lobby. That night my husband and I were having a very intimate moment that was interrupted by loud banging noise that was coming from the floor by the closet. We called the front desk no one showed up or called us back. The noise went on for about 5 or 6 minutes. Needless to say we just went to sleep after that. The next day house keeping took all used towels and wash cloths. This was a suprise since most hotels are trying to be eco friendly they only take towels and wash cloths that are left on the floor. Our second night the noise happend again around the same time. This time we didnt bother t9 call the front desk becase we got no response the first time. We just delt with it and continued on with our rest since we were checking out the next morning. At check out when asked how was my stay I stated good and bad. The clerk at the desk looked over at another employee who clearly didnt hear what I said. The clerk then proceeded to continue my chexk out and never asked me details about my stay. She clearly knew there was an issue but didnt seem to care. This really made.me feel as if I didnt matter. If a guest has an issue it should be addressed no.matter how small or simple it may seem. I grew up in this area and know the hotels reputation.

A Three family trip ad we all had a fabulous time. My husband I had a great room, when sitting on walkway which had chairs we either overlooked roadway and people watching or sunset and the harbor. The other two rooms were on the other side of the roadway and they overlooked the parking lot and dumpster. They never complained about their rooms because we all were having such a wonderful time.

Perfect location. Some small issues with the room. Blind was broken on one window but workable and no blackout shade on the door...so pretty bright in the room all night. We asked and paid for waterview room but pretty much blocked by another building
