5 / 5
We stayed in a triple room at Hotel Keihan Namba Grande—two adults and two kids (ages 14 and 5)—and the space was more than adequate for our needs. Like many hotels in Japan, it got a bit tight with suitcases open, but the high beds were a smart touch, letting us store bags underneath once we got settled.
Check-in is via self-service kiosks, which didn’t quite work for us, but the staff stepped in right away and were extremely kind and helpful. Throughout our stay, the staff was accommodating and friendly.
The hotel has some great extras. The laundry room (600 yen per load) uses a combo washer-dryer unit, and you may need to add coins for extra drying time. One of our favorite features, though, was the drink station—coffee, soft drinks, and even a beer tap and Starbucks machine. The adults appreciated the coffee and beer, while the kids loved the free soda.
The property and rooms were clean and well maintained. The hotel is in a quieter area but still within walking distance to Dotonbori and train station. It’s right next to a park/mall-like area with shops, and there are sushi and ramen spots just outside the entrance—plus a Lawson for anything else you need.
Overall, a fantastic stay that hit all the marks: convenience, comfort, and a few thoughtful surprises that made it stand out.
